HUBUNGAN ANTARA KEMATANGAN EMOSI DAN HARDINESS DENGAN PENYESUAIAN DIRI MENANTU PEREMPUAN YANG TINGGAL DI RUMAH IBU MERTUA

Kondisi menantu perempuan saat tinggal di rumah ibu mertua merupakan suatu fenomena menarik untuk dibahas. Dalam hal ini, agar menantu perempuan dapat nyaman tinggal di rumah ibu mertua, maka dibutuhkan penyesuaian diri. Penyesuaian diri dapat dijalani dengan baik, jika menantu perempuan sudah mencapai kematangan emosi dengan baik dimana saat emosinya matang menantu perempuan akan dengan mudah menilai situasi secara kritis sebelum bertindak dan hal ini dapat memberikan nilai positif terhadap kemudahan dalam menyesuaikan diri. Selain itu menantu perempuan juga harus memiliki kepribadian yang sehat yaitu hardiness, saat memiliki hardiness yang tinggi maka menantu perempuan memiliki daya tahan terhadap tekanan sehingga, mengalami kemudahan dalam menyesuaikan diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan yang pertama, hubungan kematangan emosi dan hardiness secara bersama-sama dengan penyesuaian diri menantu perempuan yang tinggal di rumah ibu mertua. Kedua, hubungan kematangan emosi dengan penyesuaian diri menantu perempuan yang tinggal di rumah ibu mertua. Ketiga, hubungan hardiness dengan penyesuaian diri menantu perempuan yang tinggal di rumah ibu mertua. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 30 menantu perempuan yang tinggal di Kecamatan Kedungpring Jawa Timur. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tiga skala yaitu skala penyesuaian diri, kematangan emosi dan hardiness. Hasil analisis regresi ganda menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis pertama diterima, secara bersama-sama kematangan emosi dan hardiness berhubungan secara signifikan dengan penyesuaian diri dengan F = 6.376 dengan p = 0.005. Untuk hipotesis kedua di tolak bahwa secara sendiri-sendiri kematangan emosi tidak berhubungan secara signifikan dengan penyesuaian diri diketahui dari nilai corellation partial 0.219 dengan p = 0.254, sedangkan untuk hipotesis ketiga diterima bahwa secara sendiri-sendiri hardiness berhubungan secara signifikan dengan penyesuaian diri dengan nilai corellation partial 0.442 dengan p = 0.020.

The condition of the daughter in law when she lives in the mother in law’s house is a phenomenon which is interesting to be discussed. In this case, in order to make the daughter in law feels comfortable to live in the mother in law’s house, she really needs a self adjustment. This self adjustment can be practiced well if the daughter in law has already reached her emotional maturity in a good way in which when her emotional level is mature already, she will find it easy to critically evaluate the situation before she takes any action, and this thing can give a positive value toward the easiness on adjusting herself. Besides, the daughter in law should also has a healthy personality which is hardiness, because when she has a high level of hardiness, she will has an endurance towards stress and then, she will has ease on adjusting herself. This research aims to prove; first, the relationship between the emotional maturity and hardiness together with the self adjustment of the daughter in law who lives in the mother in law’s house. Second, is to prove the relationship between the emotional maturity and self adjustment of the daughter in law who lives in the mother in law’s house. Third, is to prove the relationship between hardiness and the self adjustment of the daughter in law who lives in the mother in law’s house. The samples are thirty daughters in law who live in Kedungpring sub district East Java. The data collecting in this research use three scales which are the self adjustment scale, emotional maturity scale and hardiness scale. The result of double regression shows that the first hypothesis is accepted, the emotional maturity and hardiness are significantly connected to the self adjustment with F=6.376 p=0.005 For the second hypothesis is rejected because there is no significant relation between the emotional maturity and self adjustment with partial corellation value 0.219 with p=0.256, while the third hypothesis is accepted, the hardiness has a significant connection toward the self adjustment with partial corellation value 0.442 with p=0.020.
