KEPEMIMPINAN DAN KINERJA DOSEN DI JURUSAN KESEHATAN GIGI POLITEKNIK KESEHATAN PADANG

Kinerja dosen saat ini di Jurusan Kesehatan Gigi (JKG) Poltekkes Padang belum optimal. Masih ada dosen yang tidak membuat SAP, mengajar tidak mencocokkan dengan silabus, dan kurangnya disiplin dosen dalam memulai dan mengakhiri jam perkuliahan. Empat puluh persen dosen sering terlambat mengumpulkan soal dan nilai setiap Ujian Tengah Semester/Ujian Akhir Semester dilaksanakan. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi ketidakdisiplinan dosen salah satu faktor yang diduga ada hubungannya dengan kinerja dosen adalah perilaku kepemimpinan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku kepemimpinan dan kinerja dosen di JKG Poltekkes Padang. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan cross sectional. Unit analisis adalah JKG Poltekkes Padang dengan subyek penelitian seluruh dosen yang berjumlah 22 orang. Pengolahan data dilakukan secara bivariat dan multivariat dengan uji statistik korelasi product moment dan regresi linier. Hasil: Korelasi pearson menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif kuat dan bermakna antara perilaku kepemimpinan dengan kinerja dosen (0,611), perilaku sebagai warga organisasi dengan kinerja dosen (0,684). Hubungan perilaku kepemimpinan dengan kinerja dosen dimediasi oleh perilaku sebagai warga organisasi (0,505). Dari analisis regresi ganda yang masuk model regresi adalah perilaku sebagai warga organisasi dengan nilai R square 0,467. Artinya perilaku sebagai warga organisasi dapat menjelaskan variasi variabel kinerja dosen sebesar 46,7%. Kesimpulan: Variabel paling dominan yang berhubungan dengan kinerja dosen adalah perilaku sebagai warga organisasi. Artinya semakin tinggi nilai perilaku sebagai warga organisasi semakin tinggi kinerja dosen.
Background: Good performance in learning process is determined by performance of lecturers as teaching staff. The performance of lecturers at the Department of Dental Health is currently not yet optimum. Some lecturers do not make teaching plan, some teach not in accordance with the syllabus, and some lack discipline in commencing and ending the class. Forty percent of lecturers are often late in submitting test questions and test result in both mid and final examination. Many factors affect discipline of lecturers, one of them is presumed to be associated with performance; that is leadership behavior. Objective: The study aimed to identify association between leadership behavior and performance of lecturers at the Department of Dental Health of Health Polytechnic Padang. Method: The study used cross sectional design. Analysis unit was the Department of Dental Health of Health Polytechnic Padang. Subject of the study were all lecturers (22 people). Data were analyzed using univariate and multivariate method with product moment correlation and linear regression statistical test. Result: The result of Pearson correlation test showed there was strong and significant positive association between leadership behavior and performance lecturers (0,611), behavior as member of an organization and performance of lecturers (0,684). Association between leadership behavior and performance of lecturers was mediated by behavior as member of an organization (0,505). The result of double regression analysis showed that behavior as a member of an organization belonged to regression model with score of R 2 =0.467. This meant that behavior as a member of an organization could describe variation of lecturers' performance as much as 46.7%. Conclusion: Variable most dominantly associated with performance of lecturers were behavior as a member of an organization. This meant that higher score of behavior as a member of an organization meant better performance of lecturers.
