Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh job insecurity terhadap komitmen organisasional yang dimediasi oleh kepuasan kerja pada karyawan outsource PT. Asia Outsourcing Services yang ditempatkan di PT. X. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik non probabilitas yaitu purposive sampling. Instrumen pengukuran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner Job Insecurity yang dikembangkan oleh Hellgren dkk (1999), Organizational Commitment Scale dan Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) short form. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan regresi linier. Untuk membuktikan adanya mediasi, dilakukan tiga tahap pengujian yang mengacu pada Baron dan Kenny (1986). Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan program SPSS version 17.0 for Windows. Hasil pengujian terhadap 80 responden menemukan bahwa job insecurity berpengaruh negatif terhadap komitmen organisasional. Pengujian berikutnya membuktikan adanya pengaruh negatif job insecurity terhadap kepuasan kerja dan pengaruh positif kepuasan kerja terhadap komitmen organisasional. Lebih lanjut, dari pengujian mediasi ditemukan bahwa pengaruh job insecurity terhadap komitmen organisasional karyawan outsource PT. Asia Outsourcing Services yang ditempatkan di PT. X dimediasi secara sempurna oleh kepuasan kerja. Dapat diartikan bahwa peningkatan job insecurity akan menurunkan kepuasan kerja yang dialami karyawan. Selanjutnya, penurunan kepuasan kerja dapat menimbulkan penurunan dalam komitmen organisasional karyawan.

The objective of this study was to assess the influence of job insecurity on organizational commitment mediated by job satisfaction experienced by outsourced employees of PT. Asia Outsourcing Services working for PT. X (N=80). Samples were taken using purposive sampling. The Job Insecurity Questionnaire developed by Hellgren et al (1999), Organizational Commitment Scale and Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) short form were used as measuring instruments. To test the hypothesis, a series of regression analysis were performed. Mediation was tested using three steps recommended by Baron and Kenny (1986). Data analysis was carried out with the help of SPSS version 17.0 for Windows program. Regression analysis results corroborated the hypothesis that organizational commitment was negatively influenced by job insecurity. Job insecurity also found to have negative influence on job satisfaction. Furthermore, the results also showed that organizational commitment was positively influenced by job satisfaction. In order to test hypothesis 4, stating that job satisfaction will mediate the influence of job insecurity on organizational commitment, a last series of regression analysis was performed. The results revealed that job satisfaction fully mediated the influence of job insecurity on organizational commitment experienced by outsourced employees of PT. Asia Outsourcing Services working for PT. X. Job insecurity impairs job satisfaction, which in turn reduces organizational commitment.
