PENGEMBANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI UNTUK PENGELOLAAN PERANGKAT BASE STATION BERDASARKAN PEMETAAN KAPASITAS TRAFIK DAN JANGKAUAN PADA PT TELKOM AREA OPERASIONAL JAWA TENGAH

Perkembangan telekomunikasi seluler di Indonesia sudah sedemikian pesatnya dengan pertumbuhan jumlah pelanggan yang sangat tinggi. Pertumbuhan pelanggan menyebabkan kenaikan trafik dan harus diiringi dengan pengelolaan jaringan yang baik. Seperti halnya dalam setiap proses bisnis yang melibatkan banyak departemen, dalam pengelolaan jaringan di PT Telkom juga muncul permasalahan-permasalahan terkait dengan dokumentasi, koordinasi dan pemantauan pekerjaan. Dalam melaksanakan pekerjaan pengelolaan perangkat telekomunikasi, PT telkom sudah memiliki proses bisnis yang sudah berjalan. Namun demikian dalam penerapan proses bisnis yang ada saat ini masih muncul permasalahan yang terkait dengan dokumentasi, identifikasi pekerjaan, dan pemantauan status pekerjaan yang dilaksanakan. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, perlu dilakukan evaluasi terhadap proses bisnis yang sudah berjalan kemudian memperbaikinya serta menerapkan proses bisnis hasil perbaikan dengan sistem informasi pengelolaan perangkat berdasarkan pemetaan trafik dan jangkauan. berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, timbul pertanyaan bagaimana tahapan-tahapan yang harus dilaksanakan dalam mengidentifikasi kebutuhan organisasi, bagaimana perbaikan proses bisnis yang harus dilakukan dan bagaimana menerapkannya kedalam sistem informasi. Pada penelitian ini, penulis telah melakukan analisis pokok bahasan diatas dan hasilnya ditujukan untuk memberikan kontribusi bagi organisasi. Disamping itu, penulis juga menyimpulkan sistem informasi dapat membantu mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh suatu organisasi dan dapat dijadikan sebagai alat bantu untuk mengelola suatu proses bisnis.

Mobile telecommunication network development in Indonesia is growing so fast with a very high number of customers. The growth led to increasing traffic volumes and it requires a good network management. The network should be balance between the equipment capacity and availability and traffic demand. As in every business process that involves many departments, in network management at PT Telkom has also appeared problems related to documentation, coordination and work monitoring. In carrying out the work of telecommunications equipment management, PT Telkom already has a business process that is already running. However, in the implementation of business processes that exist today still come with issues related to documentation, identification of the work, and monitoring the status of work progress. To answer these problems, there is a need to evaluate the existing business processes and and make improvement in the business process. The next step is to implement the business process in to information system. The information system that will be built is an information system for network equipment management base on the network coverage and traffic mapping. Regarding to this issues, there are question arises waiting to be answered: what is the steps that sould be undertaken in identifying the needs of the organization, how the business process improvement to be done and how to apply them into information systems. In this research, researcher has made the subject of the analysis above and the results are intended to contribute to the organization. In addition, the researcher also concluded that information systems can help solve problems faced by an organization and can be used as a tool to manage a business process.
