The method that used by teacher in the teaching process will provide impact on the student’s learning achievement. One of the learning method that can facilitate students to be active and independent is cooperative learning. The method is a learning method where the students cooperate in small groups to help each other in studying the subject so they can improve their learning achievement. The purpose of this research was to find out the influence of Jigsaw cooperative learning method to improve learning achievement in biology subject of senior high school students. The design of this research was the untreated control group design with pretest-posttest. This research used experimental group and control group. The subject of this research was senior high school students in Grade XI consisting of 30 students of experimental group and 32 students of control group. This research was conducted during biology lesson where the experimental group got the treatment of jigsaw cooperative learning method, while the control group used traditional method. The data analysed with anava mixed design. The result of this research showed that jigsaw cooperative learning method could improve learning achievement in biology for grade XI senior high school students (F=10,858, p=0,002).
