Patients’ aggression influenced the mental health of psychiatric nurses. Mental health of psychiatric nurses was an important part in the process of rehabilitation of patients . The aspects of mental health of psychiatric nurses had emotional aspects, psychological functions, and social functions. Psychological skills training in dealing with patients’ aggression in this study were self-knowledge, self-acceptance, self-talk, emotion management, and therapeutic communication. This study aimed to examine the influence of psychological skills training in dealing with patients’ aggression to improve mental health of psychiatric nurses. Thirty nurses (15 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group) participated in this quasi-experimental study. Analysis of data used a mixed Anova. This study showed a significant difference between levels of mental health in the experimental group compared to the control group (F = 12,630, p <0.05). The results showed that mental health of psychiatric nurses scores in experimental group were increased. Psychological skills training in dealing with patients’ aggres sion contributed 31,1 % to improve the mental health of psychiatric nurses.
