Tantangan terbesar dalam pengelolaan perusahaan secara profesional dalam bidang keuangan adalah dengan melakukan manajemen kas yang efektif yaitu perusahaan dituntut agar selain dapat memenuhi kewajiban tepat pada waktunya juga harus dapat mengatur agar jumlah kas yang tersedia tidak terlalu banyak dan menimbulkan idle cash yang tidak dimanfaatkan secara optimal dalam investasi. Penulis melakukan perhitungan dan analisis dengan mengalokasikan idle cash atau pel uang investasi selama tahun 2009 dan tahun 20 I 0 ked a lam persentase komposisi investasi yang digunakan perusahaan selama tahun 2007 dan tahun 2008 yaitu Deposito sebesar 92,26% dan Reksa Dana sebesar 7,74% komposisi ini memberikan proyeksi Yield On Investment (YO!) sebesar 0,98%. lebih kecil jika dibandingkan dengan apabila perusahaan menggunakan persentase komposisi investasi yang diusulkan yaitu Deposito sebesar 55% dan Reksa Dana sebesar 45% yang memberikan proyeksi hasil Yield On Investment (YOl) sebesar 3,98%. The biggest challenge in managing company professionally in finance field is to do an effective cash management which is the company is required to meet obligations on time and also have to be able to arrange available cash is not too much and cause idle cash which is not used optimally in investment.
