One method to promote performance in math is to help students regulate their learning; that is to became more metacognitively, motivationally, and behavoirally active in their own learning. This can be rendered through SELF REGULATED LEARNING (SRL) training. SRL is a learning strategy that emphasizes on the active involvement of the individual in improving performance in studies. This research involves 20 students grade VII that are grouped into the experiment group and the control group through a proceeding in the form of training (SRL). The objective of this research is to test the effectiveness of SRL training on improving performance in math for grade VII students. The result of this research shows that SRL training is effective on improving performance in math for grade VII students (F=14,049,p=0,001; p<0,01) .
