Married women often face many problems that could lead them into stress. Certain strategy needed to reduce the stress level. The purpose of this study was to know whether stress level on married women will decrease by practicing Yogyakarta’s Javanesse classical dance. Subjects of this study were four married woman suffered medium level of stress, who have willingness to participate in the Yogyakarta’s Javanesse classical dance session . The dance session held in 9 meetings, twice a week, with 1.5 hour duration each. The stress level was measured with Distress Simptom Scale. Qualitative data obtained from interview and observation. This study used the one group pretest and posttest design. Wilcoxon test showed that there was no significant difference between pretest and posttest score (p>0,05). The conclusion is that there was no significant reduction on married women’s stress level after practicing Yogyakarta’s Javanesse classical dance.
