Penggunaan metode pembelajaran kooperatif STAD untuk meningkatkan prestasi Bahasa Indonesia pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama

Indonesian language lessons is one of the lesson which tested each year in the national exams. The average of Indonesian’s grade (=65) is under the KKM value (=70). Values obtained are also influenced by students' learning methods provided by the teacher. Learning methods that can be given is STAD cooperative learning. STAD cooperative learning is a method of learning by the students working in small groups of heterogeneous to help each other learn the material in the lesson. This study purpose was to determined the effectiveness of STAD cooperative learning methods to improve the performance of Indonesian language lesson for junior high school children. Participant of this study were 72 students in junior high school. It has two group, 1). 36 subjects were the experimental group who received STAD cooperative learning, 2). 36 subjects were the control group who received traditional learning. This study used experimental design using pretest posttest design with switching replications. The result (p<0,05) showed that STAD cooperative learning were found to increase Indonesian achievement in junior high school.
