Estimasi dinamika populasi dan produktivitas sapi Bali di Kabupaten Kepulauan Yapen Propinsi Papua

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dinamika populasi, produktivitas dan output sapi Bali di Kabupaten Kepulauan Yapen, Propinsi Papua, dan dilaksanakan selama tiga bulan, dimulai bulan Juli sampai September 2009. Materi penelitian meliputi 103 peternak sebagai responden dan 211 ekor sapi Bali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan efisiensi reproduksi (ER) 88,38 %, natural increase (NI) 18,18 % dan nilai net replacement rate (NRR) sapi Bali jantan dan betina masingmasing 234,28 % dan 189,59 %. Potensi dan komposisi sapi Bali yang dapat dikeluarkan setiap tahun tanpa mengganggu populasi yang ada sebesar 13,11 % setara dengan 354 ekor terdiri dari sisa replacement stock (jantan muda) sebesar 4,27 % setara dengan 115 ekor, ternak afkir masing-masing jantan 3,18 % setara dengan 86 ekor dan betina 5,67 % setara dengan 153 ekor. Dinamika Populasi sapi Bali kurun waktu tahun 2004 sampai 2008 mengalami peningkatan rata-rata setiap tahun sebesar 6,6 %, dan pada tahun 2013 dapat diestimasi populasi menjadi 3.028 ekor dengan potensi sebesar 2.153 ekor.

This research's goal was to recognize the population dynamics, productivity and output of Bali’s cattle in region of Yapen Island, Papua Province, and was held about 3 months, started in July until September 2009. The material includes 103 veterinary as a respondent and 211 Bali’s cattle. The result shows reproduction efficiency (RE) 88.38%, natural increase (NI) 18.18% and net replacement rate value (NRR) of Bali cattle male and female each 234.28% and 189.59%. The potency and compotition of bali’s cattle which produce every year without disturbing the population exist about 13.11% converted as 354 cattle, consist of the remains of replacement stock (male cattle) about 4.27% converted as 115 cattle, aged livestock each 3.18% male cattle converted as 86 cattle and 5.67% female cattle converted as 153 cattle. Population dynamic of Bali's cattle in the range of 2004 until 2008 increase at average of 6.6% and in 2013 population estimation is 3,028 cattle with the potency is about 2,153 cattle.
