Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang sangat pesat khususnya integrasi antara handphone dengan komputer memberikan kesempatan bagi perusahaan jasa konstruksi base transceiver station (BTS) untuk mengembangkan sistem informasi perusahaan. Proyek konstruksi tower mempunyai permasalahan yang berbeda dengan proyek konstruksi yang lain. Permasalahan tersebut antara lain dalam waktu yang sama terdapat banyak lokasi proyek yang berjalan dan tersebar dengan jarak yang jauh satu dengan yang lain. Selain itu, dalam proyek konstruksi BTS terdapat banyak milestone yang terlibat sehingga membuat identifikasi permasalahan menjadi sulit dan entry data juga sering terjadi kesalahan. Dengan memanfaatkan perkembangan teknologi yang ada maka dibuat sistem informasi pemantauan proyek pembangunan BTS berbasis web dengan memanfaatkan SMS gateway untuk mengumpulkan data dari masing-masing lokasi proyek. Sistem informasi pemantauan proyek pembangunan BTS berbasis web dibangun sebagai implementasi proses bisnis baru dari perbaikan proses bisnis eksisting. Proses bisnis eksisting diolah dengan metode business process reengineering sehingga menghasilkan proses bisnis baru yang lebih efektif dan efisien. Dengan dasar proses bisnis baru tersebut sistem informasi pemantauan proyek pembangunan BTS dirancang dan diimplementasikan. Di samping itu, proses bisnis yang baru juga memberikan nilai tambah berupa kemudahan dalam mengidentifikasi permasalahan di lapangan. Dari hasil pengujian fungsional sistem, sistem informasi pemantauan proyek pembangunan BTS mampu memberikan respon sesuai rencana. Pengujian juga dilakukan dengan membandingkan kinerja sistem informasi pemantauan proyek pembangunan BTS dengan Microsoft Project 2007 dan sistem pemantauan proyek eksisting. Dari hasil pembandingan tersebut didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa sistem informasi pemantuan proyek pembangunan BTS mempunyai beberapa keunggulan dibandingkan Microsoft Project 2007 dan sistem pemantuan proyek eksisting. Keunggulan tersebut antara lain: keragaman bentuk laporan, keuntungan proses, keuntungan waktu, keuntungan biaya dan keuntungan kualitas.

BTS construction projects have different problems with other construction projects. The problems such as at one time there are many running project site and spread with a long distance from one another. In addition, the BTS construction project, there are many milestones that involved making a difficult problem identification and data entry errors are also common. Taking advantage of technology information developments have made web base BTS construction project monitoring information system with using SMS gateway to collect data from each project site. Web based information system for BTS construction project monitoring is built as the implementation of new business processes from the improvement of existing processes. Existing business processes are processed by the method of business process re-engineering to produce more effective and efficient new business processes than business processes existing. Base on new business processes, BTS construction project monitoring information system is designed and implemented. In addition, the new business process also provides the added value of convenience in identifying problems in the project site. From the results of functional test systems, BTS construction project monitoring information system able to respond according to plan. Testing is also done by comparing the BTS construction project monitoring information system with Microsoft Project 2007. From the results obtained comparing the conclusion that BTS construction project monitoring information system has several advantages over Microsoft Project 2007. Advantages include: kinds of report, process benefit, time benefit, cost benefit and quality benefit.
