Program tali persahabatan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi verbal anak selective mutism

Selective Mutism (SM) is a part of anxiety disorder characterized by a child inability to communicate in certain social settings (school) despite speaking in other situations (home). The behavioral technique, especially stimulus fading and positive reinforcement that kept in a program named “The Friendship Connection†for improving verbal communication skill of children with selective mutism. A Teacher assistances a children with selective mutism involving his peers. A child will be excercise by gradually increasing the number of people, place and situation in which verbal communication. The intervention used A-B-A method with single subject design. The hypothesis is that the frienship connection program can improve verbal communication skill of children with selective mutism. The result showed existence of increasing of average of subject verbal communication frequency from baseline phase, intervention, and follow up.
