Pemanfaatan dan pengelolaan situs Candi Kedulan

Situs Candi Kedulan terletak di Dusun Kedulan, Desa Tirtomartani, Kecamatan Kalasan, Kabupaten Sleman. Situs ini ditemukan pada tahun 1992, berada 6,5 meter dibawah permukaan tanah sekarang, yang dikarenakan tertimbun lahar ggunung Merapi berkali kali dari beberapa abad yang lalu. Dari temuan arca dan prasasti diketahui bahwa Situs Candi Kedulan termasuk peninggalan Agama Hindu dari abad 9. Berdasarkan analisis nilai penting yang dikandung, disimpulkan bahwa Situs Candi Kedulan mempunyai nilai penting yang cukup signifikan, dan mempunyai potensi untuk dimanfaatkan dan dikelola. Nilai penting yang dimiliki Situs Candi Kedulan adalah nilai penting Sejarah, nilai penting Kebudayaan dan nilai penting Ilmu Pengetahuan. Potensi yang dimiliki candi Kedulan adalah potensi fisik yang berupa temuan Arkeologi, Geologi, dan Biologi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mencari alternatif pemanfaatan dan Model pengelolaan Sumberdaya Arkeologi. Selama ini, Sumberdaya Arkeologi dimanfaatkan dari aspek ekonomi, yaitu dimanfaatkan sebagai objek wisata, seperti Candi Prambanan, dan Candi Borobudur. Pemanfaatan sebagai objek wisata dilakukan dengan cara memugar bangunan yang ada dan diberi taman. Penambahan taman tidak banyak berpengaruh, karena ternyata tujuan utama wisatawan adalah mengunjungi sumberdaya arkeologinya. Di dalam penelitian ini, terungkap bahwa nilai penting dan potensi yang dimiliki Situs Candi Kedulan tidak hanya dapat dimanfaatkan dari aspek ekonomi, tetapi justru aspek akademi dapat lebih ditonjolkan. Meskipun demikian aspek ideologi juga berperan. Oleh karena itu, pemanfaatan dan pengelolaan Situs Candi Kedulan disarankan lebih menonjolkan aspek akademi, yaitu sebagai sarana pendidikan, dengan Site Museum, dan ditujukan untuk wisata pendidikan

The site of Kedulan Temple is located in Kedulan, Tirtomartani, Kalasan, Sleman. This site was discovered in 1992. It is 6,5 meters under the sea level which had been burying by the lava of Merapi Mountain many times since some centuries ago. Base on the finding of statue and the epigraphy, it is known that the site of Kedulan Temple is included as Hinduism inheritance since ninth century. Based on the analysis of important value, it is concluded that the site of Kedulan Temple has many significant values. It also has potential to be used and managed. The important values of the site of Kedulan Temple are Historical, Cultural, and Scientific values. The potensial of Kedulan Temple are physical potential which are Archaeology, Geology, and Biology. The purpose of this research is to find the alternative of using and the alternative of the model of archaeological resource management. So far, only economical aspect manipulated among archaeological resources, which if need four object, such as Prambanan and Borobudur Temple. Using them as the tour object, renovating the building and adding the garden are completed. The addition of the garden does not really influence them, because the main aim of the tourist is to visit the archaeological resource. In this research, it is revealed that the important value and potential of the site of Kedulan Temple are not only for the economic aspect but also academic aspect, which is more conspicuous. However, the ideological aspect also has the role. Therefore, the using and managing of the site of Kedulan Temple is suggested to show more in the academic aspect, which is used as educational facility such as the museum site and it is directed for educational tourism.
