Pengaruh tipe penggunaan lahan terhadap komunitas burung di Kabupaten Gunung Kidul Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta

Perubahan tata guna lahan dari hutan menjadi non-hutan untuk kepentingan manusia telah sejak lama mengakibatkan penurunan populasi satwa burung di seluruh dunia. Pengembangan rencana kegiatan konservasi yang efektif untuk satwa burung membutuhkan penilaian mengenai fungsi habitat yang telah dimodifikasi oleh manusia yang dapat mendukung populasi jenis prioritas. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh lima tipe penggunan lahan terhadap komposisi komunitas burung di Kabupaten Gunung Kidul, Propinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode point count dengan radius 50 m digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi komunitas burung dan quadrat nested sampling digunakan untuk menghitung variabel habitat di seluruh lokasi penelitian. Pengambilan data dilakukan selama tiga periode pengamatan; musim kemarau, puncak musim kemarau dan musim hujan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan komposisi komunitas burung yang terjadi pada tipe penggunaan lahan berbeda pada musim yang sama dan tipe penggunan yang sama pada musim yang berbeda disebabkan karena adanya perbedaan struktur dan komposisi vegetasi (P<0.05). Hasil analisis regresi berganda terhadap data pada tiga periode pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa kepadatan rumput, semai dan pohon per ha memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kepadatan burung di seluruh lokasi penelitian (P<0.001). Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kondisi vegetasi merupakan faktor habitat penting yang mempengaruhi keberadaan satwa burung pada seluruh tipe penggunaan lahan.

Land use changes from forested to non-forested areas for human interest have caused the avifauna population degradation in the world for years. The effective avifauna conservation plan developments need the assessment concerning the function of the human modified habitat that supports the priority species. This research was executed to examine the effect of land use type on bird community in Gunung Kidul Regency, Province of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Point count method with 50 m fixed radius was employed to identify bird community and quadrate nested sampling method was employed to measure the habitat variables in whole of research sites. The data was collected in the three observations periods; dry season, peak of dry season and wet season. The result of the research showed that the differences of community composition that occurred in the different land use type in the same season and the same land use type in the different season is caused by the differentiation on the vegetation structures and compositions (P<0.05). The multi regression analysis on the three observations data showed that grasses, seedlings and trees density per ha gave significant effect on the birds density in the whole of research sites (P<0.001). This result show that vegetation condition is the important habitat factor that influenced the occurances of avifauna in all land use types.
