Since the interest of this study was the interaction between the turning right drivers and cyclists crossing from the same direction at the signalised intersections, the two types of bicycle crossings facilities at signalised intersections were compared in terms of the traffic safety. The first type was the bicycle facility at the signalised intersection with bicycle box (Type A) and the second was the bicycle facility with bicycle path which had its own signal for bicycle when they want to cross the intersections (Type B). This principle aim of this study was to find the the answer which one of the two types of bicycle facilities (Type A and B) is safer for the cyclist. To evaluate that, comparative analyses of the mean speed of motor vehicles, the drivers behaviour, the conflict between the motor vehicle and bicycle and also the feeling of safety of the cyclists was evaluated by field observations such as speed measurements, behavioural studies, conflict studies and interview with the cyclists in both sites. The result of the observational studies showed that there was no dominant result whether one of the types was better than another type. The result of each study did not support each other, such as speed measurements and give priority observation, head movement observation and give priority observation. However, from the result of the conflict studies, there was an indication that the bicycle crossing type A seems to be safer for cyclists.
