This research was conducted due to high number of young novice drivers’ accidents in many countries. The accidents rate of young novice drivers is the highest among other groups of age. As teenagers, young novice drivers are still lack of skill and experience that lead them to do risky driving behavior. Beside those two factors, there are still many other factors which may contribute to the occurance of risky driving behavior. This research examines how factors such as gender, age, types of personality, amount of trips during evening and night hours, skills gained from driving training and education will have an influence on risky driving behavior. This research used questionnaires as an instrument tool for the research. The respondents in this research were students of high schools and universities age 17-25 years old, who had joined driving training and education, and got the A license at least in year 2004. The population in this research was young novice drivers in Semarang. From the multiple regression analysis, it is found that from five independent variables which assumed to have an influence on risky driving behavior, there are only three variables which have significant influence on risky driving of young novice drivers (age, type of personality and skills gained from driving training and education). While two other factors, gender and amount of exposure during evening and night hours are proven not having significant influence on risky driving behavior. The regression analysis using Enter Method shows that the R score is 0.571. It means that the correlation or relation between risky driving behavior and all independent variables are categorized not really strong. R square shows 0.326, this means that only 32,6 percent from variation of risky driving behavior can be explained with age, types of personality, skills gained from driving training and education. While the rest of it (100%-32,6%=67,4%) maybe explained with other causes or variables.
