Tingkat pencemaran berdasarkan rasio nematoda copepoda di Sungai Code Yogyakarta

2009 | Tesis | S2 BiologiPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi fisik dan kimia air Sungai Code Yogyakarta. Bentos dan Plankton merupakan organisme yang dapat digunakan sebagai indikator biologi, yaitu dengan menentukan rasio Nematoda Copepoda (rasio NC). Pencuplikan dilakukan pada 18 Juli 2008, 14 September 2008 dan 15 Januari 2009 pada 6 stasiun dengan 6 ulangan. Pengambilan sampel sedimen menggunakan vertical core sampler yang dibuat dari pipa PVC dan sedimen disaring dengan menggunakan saringan Tyler no. 20, 40 dan 60 sedangkan pengambilan sampel air menggunakan plankton net. Nematoda dan Copepoda dalam sampel diawetkan dan disimpan dengan menggunakan alkohol 70% dan formalin 4%. Dari hasil uji statistik korelasi hasilnya menunjukkan nilai rasio NC berkorelasi positif dengan kecepatan arus air (R2(rumus) = 0,517), BOD (R2(rumus) = 0,551),dan Ntotal (R2(rumus) = 0,528). Hal ini menunjukkan kecepatan arus air, BOD, dan N-total lebih berpengaruh terhadap nilai rasio Nematoda Copepoda daripada parameter-parameter lingkungan yang lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Lokasi-1 dengan rasio NC rata-rata 41,47 tergolong tercemar ringan, Lokasi-2 dengan rasio NC rata-rata 109,27 di ambang tercemar berat, sedangkan Lokasi-3 (rasio NC rata-rata 184,10), Lokasi-4 (rasio NC rata-rata 330,50), Lokasi-5 (rasio NC rata-rata 220,78), dan Lokasi-6 (rasio NC ratarata 372,55) tergolong tercemar berat.
Environmental pollution is one of the serious problems both in the world today and in the future,such as river pollution. Effect of pollutants in Code river ecosystem could be alternate as the physical and chemical factors. Bentos and Plankton can be used for bioindicator, in this case the Nematodes Copepods ratio (NC ratio) to monitor the pollution. The researh was conducted July 18, ’08., September 14, ’08., and January 15, ’09. Six (6) stations with 6 replications at each research station. Sediments were sampled by using vertical core sampler made from PVC pipes, and the sediments were sieved by using Tyler sieve number 20, 40 and 60 to get Nematods. Planktons were sampled by using plankton net. Nematods and Plankton were isolated and preserved in 70% alcohol and 2% formalin. From correlation analysis with NC ratio have positive correlation with water flow (R2(formula) = 0,517), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (R2(formula) = 0,551), and sediment total N (R2(formula) = 0,528 ). The result shows at location 1, the NC ratio value is relatively low (41,47) or the level of environmental pollution is relatively lower than the other. Location 2 have NC ratio 109,27, the level of environmental pollution is sill. Location-3 (NC ratio:184,10), location-4 (NC ratio: 330,50), location-5 (NC ratio: 220,78), and location-6 (NC ratio: 372,55), the level pollution is relatively higher.
