Evaluasi keterampilan penolong persalinan di kamar bersalin RSUP DR. M. Djamil Padang

Latar Belakang: Di negara berkembang 55% wanita ditolong oleh tenaga terampil pada saat persalinan. Sesuai target yang telah diatur oleh International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) pencapaian pertolongan persalinan diharapkan 85% dengan keterampilan personal tahun 2010. Oleh sebab itu perlu adanya evaluasi untuk mengetahui penerapan pada asuhan persalinan sebagai salah satu jaminan kualitas pelayanan. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan Asuhan Persalinan Normal (APN) terhadap keterampilan penolong persalinan di kamar bersalin RSUP Dr.M.Djamil Padang. Metode: Penelitian ini observasional dengan rancangan cohort prospeketif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Sampel sebanyak 24 penolong persalinan di kamar bersalin RSUP Dr.M.Djamil Padang, diobservasi masing-masing 3 kali. Analisis data terdiri dari analisis univariabel, analisis bivariabel dengan chi square dan analisis multivariabel menggunakan regresi logistik. Hasil: Analisis bivariabel menunjukkan hubungan yang bermakna antara pelatihan APN (RR= 6,1; 95% CI =2,14-16,86), umur (RR=8,5; 95% CI=2,31-31,25), pendidikan (RR=13,3; 95% CI=1,98-89,82), dan masa kerja (RR=8,5; 95% CI=2,31-31,25) dengan keterampilan penolong persalinan. Hasil analisis multivariabel menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan APN bersama umur dan pendidikan mempunyai hubungan yang tidak bermakna terhadap keterampilan penolong persalinan (RR=1,16; 95% CI=0,14-9,69). Kesimpulan: Pelatihan APN tidak berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan penolong persalinan di kamar bersalin RSUP Dr. M.Djamil Padang.

Background: In developing countries 55% of childbirths are assisted by skilled health staff. According to the target specified by the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) the achievement of childbirth assistance is expected to reach 85% at personal skill delivery in 2010. Therefore it is necessary to evaluate the implementation of childbirth care as service quality assurance. Objective: To know influence of the skill of childbirth assistants in normal childbirth care. Method: The study was observational with prospective cohort design and quantitative and qualitative approach. Samples consisted of 24 childbirth assistants at maternity room of Dr. M. Djamil Hospital Padang; each was observed three times. Data analysis used univariate, bivariate with chi square and multivariate with logistic regression. Result: The result of bivariate analysis showed there was significant association between training on normal childbirth care (RR=6.1; 95% CI=2.14-16.86), age (RR=8.5; 95% CI=2.31-31.25), education (RR=13.3; 95% CI=1.98-89.82), duration of occupation (RR=8.5; 95% CI=2.31-31.25) with the skill of childbirth assistants as much subsequently. The result of multivariate analysis showed there was no significant association between training on normal childbirth care and the skills of childbirth assistants after adjusting with age and education (RR=1,16; 95% CI=0,14-9,69). Conclusion: There was no association between training on normal childbirth care and the skills of childbirth assistants.
