Studi hubungan indeks bias terhadap viskositas pada zat cair dengan metode pantulan internal

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh viskositas zat cair sebagai fungsi indeks bias dengan metode pantulan internal menggunakan viskosimeter Ostwald dan refraktometer ABEE. Itu dilakukan dengan cara mengukur viskositas zat cair berupa larutan gula dan larutan garam pada sejumlah nilai konsentrasi. Kemudian larutan yang sama diukur indeks biasnya. Selanjutnya dicari hubungan antara viskositas dengan indeks bias. Hasilnya diperoleh grafik linear antara indek bias dengan viskositas larutan gula dan larutan garam dalm konsentrasi 10-100%.

A study on the effect of index of refraction of a liquid on its viscosity has been carried out. The study has been done based on a method of internal reflection based on the ostwald viskosimeter and the ABEE refractometer. Viscosities of liquids in the form of glucose solution and salt solution are measured for a varians concentration. A relation is then to be forend between the index of refraction and the viscosity of the liquids. It is concluded that the relation is linear within 10-100% of error. The higher the refraction index, the higher the viscosity or vice version.
