Etnoekologi perladangan orang rimba :: Studi kasus di Taman Nasional Bukit Dua Belas Jambi

The objectives of research on Orang Rimba ethnoecology in Bukit Duabelas National Park, Jambi Province are to get information about Orang Rimba shifting cultivation and the impact of external pressure to sustainable space of life Orang Rimba in the National Park. Ethnographic method is used in this research. There were 12 steps of research process such as; decide key informans, interview field ethnographical records, descriptive question, interview analysis, domain analysis, structural questions, taxonomic analysis, contrast questions, component analysis, cultural value analysis, and ethnographical report. Research location is selected is 4 sites Orang Rimba groups such as group of Air Hitam, group of Terap, group of Kejasong and group of Makekal. The results of research are; (1) from social and cultural perspective, the Orang Rimba shifting cultivation is assumed as agricultural system which is related to forest ecosystem; (2) along wish social-cultural change of Orang Rimba, ritual activity, tradition of shifting cultivation are also changed, so that the meaning of shifting cultivation ecosystem changed from religious value into economic value; (3) The hompongan concept is good enough to mantain the extend of shifting cultivation from villager into areal of Orang Rimba.
