Evaluasi kesesuaian Lahan untuk program seed for people di Kecamatan Loano Kabupaten Purworejo menggunakan sistem informasi geografis

2009 | Tesis | S2 Ilmu KehutananPenelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Loano Kabupaten Purworejo, tujuannya untuk mengetahui: 1) kelas kemampuan lahan, 2) kelas kesesuaian lahan sepuluh jenis tanaman kehutanan, 3) arahan jenis tanaman Seed for People. Penelitian menggunakan metode survai, pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan dengan metode stratified random sampling dan data sosial ekonomi masyarakat dilakukan terhadap delapan desa terpilih dengan metode wawancara dan alat bantu kuesioner. Evaluasi lahan menggunakan metode matching dengan mengacu kepada kerangka kerja FAO (1976) dan alat yang digunakan adalah perangkat SIG. Perangkat tersebut digunakan untuk tumpang-susun peta-peta tematik seperti bentuklahan, lereng, tanah, penggunaan lahan, dan curah hujan. Analisis kemampuan lahan berdasarkan Arsyad (2006), kesesuaian lahan berdasarkan PPTA (1993), dan arahan jenis tanaman Seed for People berdasarkan hasil evaluasi kemampuan lahan, hasil evaluasi kesesuaian lahan, dan partisipasi masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di Kecamatan Loano terdapat 4 kelas kemampuan lahan, yaitu: kelas II seluas 22,70 ha (0,43 %), kelas III seluas 405,87 ha (7,71 %), kelas V seluas 4.657,60 ha (88,53 %), dan kelas VI seluas 175 ha (3,33 %). Tiga jenis tanaman yang sesuai yaitu: jati sesuai marginal seluas 1.986,40 ha (37,76%), akasia cukup sesuai seluas 1.273,38 ha (24,2%), sesuai marginal seluas 752,16 ha (14,29%), dan E. grandis sesuai marginal seluas 1.752 ha (33,3%). Partisipasi masyarakat menginginkan jenis tanaman, yaitu: sengon, jati, dan mahoni. Arahan jenis tanaman Seed for People yaitu jati seluas 1.986,40 ha (37,76%) wilayah Kecamatan Loano.
The research was conducted in Loano Sub-district, Purworejo Regency, and it aims to find out 1) Class of land capability, 2) Class of land suitability for ten kinds of forest trees, and 3) Recommended kinds of trees for Seed for People program. The research was conducted by using survey method, in which sample of soil was taken using stratified random sampling, and data of social economic aspects of community of the eight selected villages were collected by interviews and questionnaires. Land evaluation was done by using matching method in reference to the framework of FAO (1976) and GIS software. The sofware was used to overlay thematic maps which include landform, slope, soil, land use, and rainfall map. Analysis of land capability was based on Arsyad (2006), land suitability was based on PPTA (1993), and recommended kinds of trees for Seed for People program were based on evaluation result of land capability and land suitability, and community participation. The research findings indicate that there are 4 classes of land capability in Loano Sub-district referring to Class II which occupies 22.70 ha (0.43%), class III which occupies 405.87 ha (7.71%), class V which occupies 4,657.60 ha (88.53%), and Class VI which occupies 175 ha (3.33 %). The three suitable kinds of trees are jati which fits marginal suitability as wide as 1,986.40 ha (37.76%), akasia which moderately fits marginal suitability as wide as 1,275.38 ha (24.2%), and the one which fits marginal suitability as wide as 752.16 ha (14.29%), and E. grandis which fits marginal suitability as wide as 1,752 ha (33.3%). The local community demands three kinds of trees including sengon, jati, and mahoni.. The recommended kind of trees for Seed for People Program is jati (tectona grandis) which is 1,986.40 ha in width (37.76%) in Loano Sub-district areas.
