Tren perkembangan teknologi telekomunikasi saat ini menuju kearah teknologi informasi, salah satunya pada implementasi infrastruktur core telekomunikasi. Hal ini disebabkan infrastruktur teknologi informasi lebih ekonomis serta pengembanganya mudah dilaksanakan dibandingkan dengan jaringan tradisional. Telkomsel Regional NO merupakan salah satu pengguna teknologi telekomunikasi yang hampir seluruhnya menggunakan infrastruktur teknologi informasi. Tugas utama dari Telkomsel regional NO adalah menjaga availability jaringan komunikasi bagi pelanggan Telkomsel. Dengan Menjaga availability operasional infrastruktur Teknologi Informasi merupakan syarat mutlak bagi Telkomsel Regional NO dalam menjalankan tugasnya. Penelitian ini mencoba mengkaji dan mencari permasalahan infrastruktur teknologi informasi pada Telkomsel Regional NO sebagai langkah optimisasi beserta usulan pelaksanaannya, dalam rangka mencapai availability jaringan telekomunikasi Telkomsel bagi pelanggan. Hal ini perlu dilakukan sebagai langkah preventif dalam mencegah terjadinya gangguan sistem telekomunikasi secara bersamaan dan gangguan sistem telekomunikasi yang bersifat critical. Untuk mempermudah identifikasi, dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pembagian infrastruktur teknologi informasi Telkomsel Regional NO menjadi 9 segmen. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat masalah yang muncul pada segmen-segmen tersebut. Segmen teknologi informasi Telkomsel Regional NO yang mempunyai potensi critical adalah segmen network sehingga segmen ini menjadi prioritas untuk dikaji lebih lanjut dengan memperhatikan kondisi existing

Currently, Trend of Telecommunication technology goes to Information technology, its clearly seems at core network telecommunication, due to economic and practice factor.Telkomsel Regional NO (Network Operation) is one of the telecommunication company division that applying information technology as its telecommunication infrastrucure function. Main duty of Telkomsel Regional NO is maintaining network availability for Telkomsel’s Customer. It can be inferred that maintaining information technology is a compulsion. This research is observing Telkomsel Regional NO information technology infrastructure, unearthing the problem that exist and to implemen the solution. Due to Main Duty Telkomsel Regional NO, optimizing information technology infrastructure is one of others solution. It to prevents rising problem that caused disaster in network availability. For identification purpose, information technology infrastructure is dividing in to 9 segmens, each segmen has a score for identification result. These score will be process and the value of maturity for each segmen will be found. These value is treating as a based for choosing information technology infrastructure segmens that to be optimize by priority. Network is the segmen of information technology infrastructure that has a prioritiy to optimize. By looking existing that alive system conditions, optimizing information technology infrastrucure can be implement.
