Bicycle is one of transportation mode foreknown and used by most of society in Yogyakarta city and became part of mix traffic. Along with rising of social life and enhancement in automotive industry, bicycle role now is shifted by motor vehicle due to its ability reach higher mobility, faster and comfortable for the user. The aims of this study are to assess the demand for cycle both existing and potential demand, afterward to establish bicycle network with certain facilities along the network, which is also integrated with transit system. To develop cycle network first thing to be figure out the existing demand for cycle and potential demand will be gained from proposed bike facilities by office and school base survey. Trip generate also gained through regression model which variable obtain from socio economic of respondents. The origin destination of the cyclists arranged in form of origin destination matrix and desire lane of bicycle movement, hence can be determined number of bicycle movement and direction. Routes which have been chosen by the cyclists in their journey to destination zone, then plotted into roads map, therefore can be known which street passed through by the cyclist regarding the number of the cyclists. After attain desire route of cyclist then develop the alternative continuous and integrated route with kind of bicycle facilities along the route. The facilities which will be developed are; on-street and off-street bike facilities, parking facilities, destination facilities and integrated facilities with transit system. Over last seven years (from 2001 – 2008) there were reduced number of cyclists about 202 cyclist per hour per year. Therefore, to assess the demand by regression model from trip generated was modelled as ; Y= 5.610 – 2.317 Location + 0.0002 Population and demand on proposed facilities model is Y= 1.482 – 0.0606 share roadways + 0.1001 bike lane + 0.0596 integrated facilities - 0.070439 shower and changing facilities. Routes that are developed based on most desire route, obtained from origin-destination survey and resulted in approximation 7,702 trips per day. It was distributed into 45 sub-districts in Yogyakarta. Bicycle network which developed is going to be as main routes is in local road along Diponegoro Street to east side until Adisucipto Street (Janti junction) in where schools and shoping areas (traditional market) as the public destination, with pedestrian-bike at sidewalk widening. Secondly is along Wirobrajan Street to east side until Kusuma Negara Street in where schools and office area as the destination places, with route facilities pedestrian-bike at sidewalk and destination facility is secure bicycle parking area. Bicycle facilities at intersection are signalised intersections suitable for cyclist e.g. separate bicycle phases, bicycle detectors and cycle lamps and waiting areas (bike boxes) should be provided for cyclists that will stop at intersections and separated green light. Destination facilities can be implemented in school areas as bike parking facility with long term (secured with shelter), office area long term parking (secured with shelter) and shopping area with racks facility for short term parking.
