Pengaruh kombinasi media terhadap filter terhadap penurunan kekeruhan, kadar besi, dan mangan pada penjernihan air tanah :: Studi kasus di Dukuh Magersari Timur, Desa Mojo, Kecamatan Andong, Kabupaten Boyolali

Masyararakat Dukuh Magersari Timur, Desa Mojo, Kecamatan Andong, Kabupaten Boyolali untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air minumnya menggunakan air tanah sumur dangkal. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian sampel air dari tiga sumur berturut-turut kekeruhan, kadar besi, dan mangan, yaitu sampel A: 1,15 NTU; 0,3656 mg/l; 0,3604 mg/l, sampel B: 4,47 NTU; 0,7845 mg/l; 0,3638 mg/l, sampel C: 15,9 NTU; 5,0118 mg/l; 4,2992 mg/l, melebihi kadar batas maksimal sesuai Keputusan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 907/MENKES/SK/VII/2002 tentang Syarat-Syarat dan Pengawasan Kualitas Air Minum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas kombinasi media filter dalam menurunkan kekeruhan, kadar besi, dan mangan pada penjernihan air tanah. Penelitian bersifat eksperimen dengan rancangan Post Test Only Control Group Design. Pengujian dilakukan terhadap tiga sampel air sumur yang dialirkan ke dalam tabung filter dengan kombinasi media filter pasir aktif-arang aktif (PAAA), pasir aktif-zeolit (PA-ZE), dan arang aktif-zeolit (AA-ZE) yang masingmasing sampel dilakukan pengulangan tiga kali dengan kontrol tanpa melalui media filter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi media filter PA-AA yang paling efektif untuk menurunkan kekeruhan, kadar besi, dan mangan pada ketiga sampel. Efektivitas penurunan kekeruhan, kadar besi, dan mangan berturut-turut untuk sampel A: 33,91; 86,70; 95,83%, sampel B: 96,94; 86,79; 84,23%, dan sampel C: 76,54; 95,47; 98,59%. Hasil uji Anava terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan antara efektivitas kombinasi media filter terhadap penurunan kekeruhan, kadar besi, dan mangan hanya pada kadar mangan sampel B dan kekeruhan sampel C. Sedangkan hasil analisis regresi linear terhadap debit filtrat hasil penjernihan pada kombinasi media filter pasir aktif–arang aktif, diperkirakan media filter membutuhkan waktu pembersihan kembali (backwash) lebih cepat untuk air yang kekeruhan, kadar besi, dan mangan lebih tinggi.

In the East Magersari, Mojo Village, Andong District, Boyolali Regency, most people use ground water for their daily purposes. The facts, the water has high content of turbidity, iron (Fe), and manganese (Mn) more than maximum requirement due to Indonesian Health Minister Regulation No. 907/MENKES/VII/2002) about The Requirement and Controlling of Drinking Water Quality. To provide a simple, cheap, and reliable apparatus on reducing turbidity, iron, and manganese, three filter columns have been designed for filtration of ground water with granular activated carbon, activated sand, and zeolite media. The aim of this study was to find out the effectiveness of filter media combination on reducing of turbidity, iron, and manganese in purification of ground water. This research is experimental with Post Test Only Control Group design carried out in three replications. Three kinds of water sources were flown through each of filter column with flow rate of 1,000 ml/minute and the control was flown and collected without filter media. The result of this research shows that there were differences between before and after filtration and the most effective of filter media combination on reducing turbidity, iron, and manganese at three kinds of ground water is activated sand-activated carbon media combination. The effectiveness on reducing turbidity, iron, and manganese content respectively for water source A are 33.91; 86.70; 95.83%, for water source B are 96.94; 86.79; 84.23%, and for water source C are 76.54; 95.47; 98.59%. The result of anava test shows that there were significant difference among the effectiveness of filter media combination only on reducing manganese at water source B and turbidity at water source C. The filter media needs short time for backwashing of water which is higher turbidity, iron, and manganese content.
