Kelompok dukungan orangtua untuk menurunkan tingkat stres orang tua pasien kanker anak

Having child with serious illness such as cancer led to the poor of family prosperity. Parents would have to deal with serious problems. This research aimed to find that support group for parents of children with cancer can be used to reduce the stres level towards the parents of children with cancer. Participants of this research were 7 parents of children with cancer. The research design is one group pretest-post test and follow-up repeated measurement design. Stress scale used to measure parent’s stress level were given three times, before treatment as pre-test, after treatments post-test and follow up measurement two weeks after post-test. The descriptive statistic measure showed the decreasing level of stress score from pre test to post-test. The Wilcoxon T-test showed the significant different of stress score between pre-test and post-test with Z = -2.375 and p = 0.009 (p<0.05). The results of the analysis showed that support group for parents with cancer children decreased the stress level of the parents.
