Evaluasi usability situs web :: Studi eksplorasi pada situs web Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi

Situs web yang bagus mengkombinasikan kedua aspek: estetika dan kemudahan penggunaan. Situs Dikti.go.id memuat informasi dan berita terbaru berkaitan dengan penyelenggaraan pendidikan tinggi termasuk kebijakan dan peraturan perundangan, dan informasi penawaran beasiswa, program hibah kompetisi dan lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi usability situs Dikti.go.id yang meliputi aspek efektifitas, efisiensi, dan kepuasan pengguna; dan melakukan perancangan-ulang berdasarkan hasil evaluasi usability tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam tiga tahap: pra-tes, tes, dan pasca-tes. Partisipan mengerjakan aktifitas yang telah disusun, aktifitas layar selama pengujian diamati dan direkam untuk analisis lebih lanjut. Partisipan mengungkapkan pikiran/perasaan dan gagasan selama pengujian secara lisan (thinking aloud). Waktu mulai dan waktu akhir untuk setiap tugas juga dicatat. Pengukuran pengujian usability meliputi tingkat kesuksesan penyelesaian aktifitas untuk mengukur efektifitas, rata-rata waktu penyelesaian aktifitas untuk mengukur efisiensi, dan rating kepuasan partisipan. Efektifitas situs Dikti.go.id berdasarkan tingkat penyelesaian skenario adalah tinggi tetapi tingkat kesuksesan cukup rendah, artinya terdapat problem esensial berkaitan dengan cara pengguna menjelajahi situs ini, sehingga kepuasan pengguna terhadap situs ini tidak cukup tinggi. Studi ini juga menunjukkan bahwa arsitektur informasi situs ini terlalu kompleks dan situs tidak mudah untuk dijelajahi. Terdapat lima kategori problem usability yang dapat diidentifikasi. Untuk itu, telah dilakukan koreksi mayor mencakup pengelolaan informasi dan navigasi. Pengujian terhadap hasil perancangan-ulang menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan efektifitas, efisiensi, dan kepuasan yang signifikan.

Good websites combine both two aspects: aestethics and ease of use. Dikti.go.id site contains the latest news and information related to the organization of higher education, including policy and legislation, information and supply scholarships, grants program and other competitions. This study aimed to evaluate the usability of the Dikti.go.id site, which includes aspects of effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction, and re-design the site based on the results of the usability. This research was conducted in three stages: pre-test, test, and post-tests. Participants carried out activities that have been prepared. Screen activity during the test observed and recorded for further analysis. Participants reveal thoughts/feelings and ideas during the test (thinking aloud). The start time and end time for each task are also recorded. The measurement of usability testing include the level of success settlement activities to measure effectiveness, the average time to measure the efficiency of activities, and participant satisfaction rating. Dikti.go.id effectiveness of the site based on the level of resolution scenario is high but the level of success is low enough, that means there are problems associated with the essential way the user navigates the site, so that the user satisfaction of this site is not high enough. This study also shows that the information architecture of the site is too complex and the site is not easy to explore. There are five categories of usability problem that can be identified. For that, the major corrections has been made include information management and navigation. Testing results of the re-design shows an increase in the effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction that significant.
