Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan sagu kukus (Metroxylon Spp) dan tepung keong mas (Pomacea Spp) sebagai pengganti jagung kuning dalam pakan terhadap penampilan itik jantan Alabio, Mojosari dan hasil persilangannya. Seratus sembilan puluh dua ekor anak itik jantan dari tiga bangsa yang berumur 7 hari di tempatkan dalam 48 unit kandang (4 ekor/kandang). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Petak Terbagi (Split Plot Design) dengan bangsa (Alabio, Mojosari dan MA) sebagai petak utama (main plot), jenis pakan: (R0 : 0%, RI ; 15% , RII: 30% da RIII: 45%) sebagai anak petak (sub plot) dan umur (2 – 8 mgg) sebagai anak-anak petak (sub-sub plot) , semua perlakuan diulang empat kali. Variabel yang diamati penampilan itik (berat badan, kenaikan berat badan konsumsi pakan, konsumsi energi, konsumsi protein,konversi pakan, berat karkas dan persentase karkas, persentase lemak abdominal), harga pakan dan Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa efek bangsa memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) terhadap berat badan, kenaikan berat badan dan konversi pakan. Sedang efek pakan memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, konsumsi energi, konsumsi protein dan kenaikan bobot badan dan bobot badan akhir. Terjadi interaksi pakan dengan bangsa terhadap berat badan itik pada umur 2 dan 4 minggu. Pemberian 39% sagu kukus dan 6% tepung keong mas dapat menganti kebutuhan jagung kuning sebagai sumber energi dalam pakan itik sebesar 45%. Itik hasil persilangan (MA) antara Mojosari jantan dan Alabio betina menghasilkan daging dan persentase karkas yang lebih tinggi dari kedua tetuanya. Nilai heterosis itik MA selama delapan minggu rata-rata 2,22% dan selalu bernilai positif. Biaya pakan untuk menghasilkan berat badan sebesar 1 kg masing-masing perlakuan R0 sebesar Rp 9.928,88; perlakuan R1 sebesar Rp.9537,77; perlakuan R2 sebesar Rp 8.779.58 dan perlakuan R3 sebesar Rp 8.210,25 dan menghasilkan IOFC yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan ketiga formulasi pakan lainnya. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi sagu kukus dengan tepung keong mas sebesar 45% dapat menganti kebutuhan jagung kuning sebagai sumber energi dalam pakan. Itik jantan hasil persilangan lebih baik dari itik jantan Alabio dan Mojosari karena lebih efisien merubah pakan menjadi daging sehingga menghasilkan berat badan yang lebih tinggi.

This study was aimed at finding out the effects of combining steaming sago (Metroxylon Spp) and golden snail flour (Pomacea Spp) as the source of energy in duck ration, substituting yellow corn, on the performance of male Alabio, Mojosari, and their cross (MA). One hundred and ninety two young male ducks from the three breeds of 7 days old were assigned in 48 units of stalls (4 ducks/stall). The Split Plot Design was used with the breeds (Alabio, Mojosari and MA) as the main plot, the types of ration were: R0 (control/100 % basal ration), R1 (basal ration + 13 % steaming sago and 2% golden snail flour), R2 (basal ration + 26% steaming sago and 4% golden snail flour) and R3 (basal ration + 39 % steaming sago and 6% golden snail flour) as the sub plot and age (2 – 8 wks) as the sub of the sub plot. All treatments were repeated four times. The observed variables were the performance of ducks (body weight, body weight gain, ration consumption, energy consumption, protein consumption, ration conversion, carcass weight and percentage of carcass, percentage of abdominal fat), price of ration and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). The results of study indicated that breed had significant effects (P<0.05) on body weight, body weight gain and ration conversion. Meanwhile, ratio had significant effects (P<0.05) on ration consumption, energy consumption, protein consumption, body weight gain, and final body weight. Interaction of ration and breed on the body weight was observed at age 2 and 4 weeks. Feeding with 39% steaming sago and 6% golden snail flour could substitute 45% of the need for yellow corn as the source of energy in duck ration. The cross ducks (MA) between male Mojosari and female Alabio produced higher meat and carcass percentage than their parents. The heterosis value of MA ducks for eight weeks was 2.22% on average and always had positive value. The costs of ration to produce 1 kg of body weight were Rp 9.928,88 for R0 treatment; Rp.9537,77 for R1 treatment; Rp 8.779.58 for R2 treatment, and Rp 8.210,25 for R3 treatment. Meanwhile IOFC production was higher compared to those of the other three ration formulations. It was concluded from this study that the combination of steaming sago and golden snail flour up to 45% of the ration could replace the need for yellow corn as the source of energy in the ration. Cross male ducks were better that male Alabio ducks and Mojosari because they were more efficient in converting ration to meat which resulting in higher body weight gain.
