The objective of the study is to explain the behavior standard of humanbeing in his society and especially its implication for an absurdist, to describe the role of the main character created by Camus as a nonconformist toward the society; and to do critical evaluation toward the existential ethics which serve as a basis for Albert Camus’ main character as depicted in The Outsider. The study is implemented by examining reference books, especially those concerning with the title of the study. The achievement of the data is analytically presented using historical descriptive, hermeneutics, interpretation, and verstehen methods. Based on the result of the study that has been analyzed, a conclusion is obtained that Albert Camus’ ethical thought as depicted in The Outsider only brings into despair, suffering, and conflict with the society. Upon which ethical claims are made by Camus, the true happiness will never be reached.
