Transformasi novel ke bentuk film :: Analisis ekranisasi terhadap novel Ca Bau Kan

Perkembangan dunia film khususnya mengenai film adaptasi novel menunjukkan peningkatan. Namun film adaptasi novel ini sering menimbulkan kekecewaan baik bagi penulis novel maupun penikmat film. Kekecewaan ini muncul karena adanya perbedaan antara film dengan novel yang diadaptasi khususnya berkaitan dengan alur cerita. Asumsi tersebut muncul pada salah satu film berjudul Ca Bau Kan yang diadaptasi dari novel dengan judul yang sama karya Remy Sylado. Oleh karena itu, perlu diadakan penelitian mengenai alur melalui analisis kernel dan satelitnya. Pembuktian asumsi tersebut dijabarkan dengan mempergunakan teori Chatman untuk menganalisis kernel dan satelit dari alur novel maupun alur film. Berdasarkan data analisis kernel dan satelit dari alur novel dan film tersebut dapat diperoleh perbandingan mengenai persamaan, perbedaan, dan variasi alur pada bentuk transformasinya tersebut. Dengan demikian, perubahan fungsi dari bentuk novel ke transformasinya dalam bentuk film dapat diketahui. Dari penelitian mengenai kernel dan satelit novel dapat diperoleh data kernel sebanyak 91 kernel dan satelit sebanyak 284 satelit, sedangkan data film menunjukkan jumlah kernel sebanyak 79 kernel dan satelit sebanyak 146 satelit.

Recently, there is an increasing amount of movies adapted from some novels. However, those novel-adapted movies often fail to meet people's expectation, especially the novel writers and audiences. This is because there are some differences between the movie and the novel adapted. It mainly happens in accordance with the plot. This assumption emerges in a movie, Ca Bau Kan, which is adapted from a novel with the same title, written by Remy Sylado. Therefore, a research on the plot through its kernels and satellites is needed. The assumption is proved by using the Chatman theory to analyze the kernels and the satellites of both the novel and the movie plots. The analysis found some comparisons in the similarities, the differences, and the plot variations on the transformation from a novel to a movie. By doing this analysis, the function changing resulted from the transformation form from a novel to a movie could be explained. The research found that there are 91 kernels and 284 satellites exist in the novel. While 79 kernels and 146 satellites found in the film data.
