Kelompok strategis dalam dinamika politik lokal :: Studi tentang peran HPMIG pasca pembentukan Propinsi Gorontalo

Konsepsi kelompok strategis yang pernah diteliti oleh Hans Dieter Evers di Asia Tenggara menjadi kunci penelitian ini untuk kemudian di ujicoba pada Himpunan Pelajar Mahasiswa Indonesia Gorontalo (HPMIG. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran kelompok strategis dalam hal ini HPMIG dalam dinamika politik lokal pasca pembentukan Provinsi Gorontalo. Penelitian ini pula dimaksudkan untuk memetakan ideologi yang beroperasi di tubuh HPMIG baik pra maupun pasca pembentukan Provinsi Gorontalo. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah historical sociology. Teknik pengambilan dengan cara purposive. Data diperoleh dengan cara indepth interview. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Pembentukan Provinsi Gorontalo adalah sebuah proses sosial yang berlangsung selama puluhan tahun, bukan saja karena transisi politik dari Orde Baru ke Orde Reformasi. Dalam pada ini, HPMIG juga bukan menjadi faktor tunggal dalam pembentukan Provinsi Gorontalo. 2) Namun, sebagai elemen yang ikut memperjuangkan Provinsi, HPMIG mengalami perubahan ideologi. Perubahan ini menjadikan HPMIG menjadi kelompok strategis Gorontalo, yakni kelompok yang lebih dominan gerakan politiknya dibanding gerakan intelektual.

Conception of strategic group which been checked by Hans Dieter Evers in South-East Asia becomes this research key for then in testing at Himpunan Pelajar Mahasiswa Indonesia Gorontalo (HPMIG. This research aim to know the role of strategic group in this case HPMIG in local politics dynamics post forming Gorontalo Province. This research also meant to map ideology operating in body HPMIG either pre and also post forming Gorontalo Province. Method applied at this research is historical sociology. Retrieval technique by the way of purposive. Data is obtained by the way of indepth interview. Result of research indicates that 1) Forming of Gorontalo Provinsi is a social process taking place during tens of year, not only because political transition from New order to Reformasi Order. In at this, HPMIG also do not become unique factor in forming Gorontalo Province. 2) But, as element which fight for Province, HPMIG to experience ideology change. This change makes HPMIG becomes strategic group of Gorontalo, namely group which more movement dominance of its the politics compared to intellectual movement.
