Perbandingan ekspresi P53 pada pterigium primer progresif dengan dan tanpa injeksi triamcinolone acetonide

Tujuan : Membandingkan ekspresi p53 pada pterygium primer progresif yang tidak diberi injeksi dan yang sudah diberi injeksi triamcinolone acetonide subkonjungtiva sebelumnya. Bahan dan cara : Desain prospektif, konsekutif, posttest only control design. Semua pasien pterygium primer progresif dari Februari 2007 hingga Desember 2007 dirandomisasi menjadi 2 grup: yang langsung dieksisi dan yang menerima injeksi triamcinolone acetonide 1 minggu sebelum eksisi. Pemeriksaan dilakukan terhadap 64 mata dari 33 mata pada kelompok dengan injeksi dan 31 mata pada kelompok tanpa injeksi. Ekspresi dari kedua kelompok diperiksa secara imunohistokimia dengan menggunakan monoklonal antibodi DO-7. Penilaian berdasarkan atas jumlah sel positif per 100 sel di dalam lima lapang pandang yang berbeda. Hasil : Ekspresi berlebihan pada kelompok tanpa injeksi lebih kuat dan tinggi dibandingkan pada kelompok dengan injeksi. Perbedaannya secara statistik bermakna (P< 0.05), ekspresi p 53 pada kelompok tanpa injeksi adalah 10.37 (± 7.59), dan pada kelompok dengan injeksi adalah 5.19 (± 4.94) (independent t test, p=0,001). Kesimpulan : Ekspresi p53 pada kelompok tanpa injeksi triamcinolone acetonide subkonjungtiva lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok dengan injeksi pada pterigium primer progresif dan secara statistik berbeda bermakna.

Purpose: To compare p53 expression in progressive primary pterygia with and without triamcinolone acetonide injection. Methods: Prospective, consecutive, posttest only control design. All progressive primary pterygia patients from February 2007 until December 2007 were randomized: those that were directly excised and those that were injected with triamcinolone acetonide 1 week before. There were 64 eyes, 33 eyes were included in postinjection group and 31 eyes were included in non-injection group. We compared the p53 expression from the two groups. Sections were immunostained with monoclonal antibodies DO-7. The result was counted 5 times in different places and positive stains (mutant p53) per 100 cells were identified in magnitude of 400 times. Result: The p53 expression in non-injected group was 10.37 (± 7.59), whereas the postinjected- pterygia group was 5.19 (± 4.94) (independent t test, p=0,001). Conclusion: There was significant difference of p53 expression between the two groups.
