This study is aimed to analyze the linkages and impact among economic sectors and then to identify the production structure in terms of production chains in the Central Java economy. The data used in this study relies mostly on the Input- Output Table of Central Java in 2004. The production structure in term of production chains in Central Java economy shows that Forestry sector and Other Manufacturing sector that have the highest value of forward and backward linkage are connected directly with the strongest linkage. The distance between them is inderect, having at least one round of system effect. The result also shows that General Government and Defense sector has the notable impacts in creating household income in the Central Java economy, while Livestock and its products sector that has the largest employment multiplier appears to require labor intensive operation.
