Evaluasi kinerja keuangan dan prospek industri otomotif :: Studi kasus PT NMI

2008 | Tesis | S2 Magister ManajemenTulisan ini memberikan gambaran terutama bagi Management PT NMI dalam pengambilan keputusan berdasarkan: analisa historis, analisa laporan keuangan, dan mempelajari kemungkinan investasi untuk mempertahankan atau menutup Divisi Otomotif. Sebagai alat analisa digunakan: ROI, payback period, net present value, budget cash flow, dan budget plan. Sejak adanya larangan penggunaan bahan baku asbestos untuk industry manufaktur oleh pemerintah Jepang, memberikan pengaruh yang cukup besar bagi PT.NMI khususnya Divisi Otomotif. Peraturan sejenis belum berlaku di Indonesia, hal ini membuat PT. NMI mengalami kesulitan untuk bersaing dengan Industri yang masih menggunakan bahan baku asbestos. Harga bahan baku non asbestos yang mahal menyebabkan PT. NMI mengalami financial distress. Tulisan ini juga mengemukakan bahwa investasi mesin untuk Divisi Otomotif sangat perlu dilakukan tetapi harus diikuti dengan kebijakan yang relevant seperti: cost reduction dan menyederhanakan supply chain management s dan diharapkan dapat me-maintain the cash flow. Divis Otomotif dapat dipertahankan apabila Management mengambil langkah-langkah yang tepat.
This thesis is written to give illustration for management to analysis the condition makes strategic decision base on: historical analysis, financial report analysis and visibility study for new investment to keep exiting Automotive Division or Terminate that division. ROI, payback period, net present value, budget cash flow, and budget plan are used as analysis tools for making a decision. Since there is regulation from Japan government not allow every manufacture company to use asbestos material for their production give big impact to PT. NMI especially in Automotive Division. Indonesian government itself did not implement the same rule as Japan yet, that make NMI got big problem to compete with asbestos usage suppliers. Huge price of non asbestos material without substitution material put PT. NMI in financial distress. We can also see that investment for new machinery is important in Automotive Division that should follow with relevant action such as cost reduction and try to simplify supply chain management system and hopefully maintain the cash flow as well. Actually Automotive Division can survive within management correct action.
