Analisis perbedaan tingkat kepuasan pengguna perangkat lunak open source berdasarkan tingkat jabatan

Dalam kondisi dewasa ini, dimana tingkat persaingan antar perusahaan makin tinggi, teknologi informasi merupakan salah satu aspek terpenting bagi suatu perusahaan untuk dapat bersaing. Salah satu faktor yang paling mendasar adalah bagaimana perusahan melakukan pemilihan teknologi yang akan dipakai. Salah satu alternatif yang tersedia saat ini adalah dengan menggunakan teknologi open source, yang membebaskan pemakainya untuk membayar biaya lisensi yang besar. Namun saat ini masih banyak perusahaan yang belum menggunakan teknologi open source ini dengan berbagai pertimbangan, salah satunya adalah tentang aspek kemudahan dan aspek kepuasan penggunaan perangkat lunak open source bila dibandingkan dengan penggunaan perangkat lunak komersial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tingkat kepuasan pengguna dalam penggunaan aplikasi open source berdasarkan tingkat jabatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survey kepada 36 orang responden manajerial dan 45 orang responden non manajerial pada PT Sun Microsystems Indonesia. Adapun metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode analisis mean different. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut didapatkan bahwa (1) Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa posisi dan tingkat jabatan seseorang dalam sebuah perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap tingkat kepuasan dalam penggunaan aplikasi open source. Data deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai kepuasan pengguna open source di PT. Sun Microsystems Indonesia pada tingkat manajerial lebih tinggi daripada tingkat non manajerial ; (2) Hasil pengujian mean different test memperlihatkan bahwa kedua kelompok responden memiliki perbedaan yang nyata atas tingkat kepuasan dalam penggunaan aplikasi open source. Dilihat dari dimensi-dimensi kepuasan penggunaan aplikasi open source, kedua kelompok memiliki kesamaan dalam dimensi tingkat kepuasan tertingginya, yaitu pada dimensi waktu, hal ini memberikan makna bahwa kedua kelompok responden merasakan bahwa aplikasi open source memiliki keunggulan dalam dimensi waktu karena dapat menyelesaikan pekerjaan dengan baik dan tepat pada waktunya, dan menyediakan fitur dan fungsi yang terkini (up-to-date) dan canggih. Dengan analisis diatas, maka sesuai dengan semangat “Go Open Source” yang telah dicanangkan oleh pemerintah, maka hasil penelitian ini memperjelas bahwa program pemberdayaan dan perluasan penggunaan teknologi open source dapat dipercepat bila dilakukan pendekatan dengan kelompok manajerial, sebagai pengambil keputusan dalam sebuah perusahaan.

In the current condition where the level of competition among companies has become stronger and stronger, information technology constitutes one of the most important aspects for any company with regard to competition. One of the most fundamental factor is how a company to carry out selection on technology that will be used. One of alternatives currently available is to use open source technology that can free its user from paying big cost of license. Bur currently there are still many companies that have not used this open source technology due to several considerations, one of which is relating to the aspect of easiness and aspect of satisfaction concerning the use of open source software if compared with the use of commercial software. This research has purpose to measure the level of user’s satisfaction in using open source application based on the level of position. This research was carried out by using survey method to 36 persons of managerial respondents and 45 persons of nonmanagerial respondents in PT Sun Microsystems Indonesia. While the method of analysis used is meant different analysis method. From the result of such research, it was found that (1) This research shows that the level of position of a person in a company has influence against the level of satisfaction with regard to the use of open source application. The descriptive data shows that the average value of satisfaction of open source user in PT. Sun Microsystems Indonesia in managerial level is higher than in non-managerial level; (2) The result of evaluation against mean different test shows that between two groups of respondents there is clear difference regarding the level of satisfaction in the use of open source application. If viewed from the dimensions of satisfaction relating to the use of open source application, both groups have equality in the dimension of its highest level of satisfaction i.e., in the dimension of time which means that both groups of respondents feel that open source application has superiority in the dimension of time because it can complete the work well and on time with providing up-to-date feature and function and in state of the art condition. Through the above analysis, then pursuant to the spirit of “Go Open Source” which has been planned by Government, then the result of this research can make clearer that the program of empowerment and extension with regard to the use of open source technology can be accelerated if conducted approach to managerial group as decision maker in a company.
