Penurunan toksisitas lindi dari TPA sampah Piyungan dengan Trickling filter

2008 | Tesis | S2 BiologiPenelitian penanganan lindi (leachate) dari Tempat Pembuangan Akhir Sampah (TPA) Piyungan, Bantul, Yogyakarta dengan teknik Trickling filter telah dilakukan. Tujuan pelitian ini untuk menganalisis kemampuan Trickling filter untuk menurunkan toksisitas lindi berdasarkan beberapa parameter lingkungan. Penelitian dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap; menguji toksisitas lindi dengan menggunakan ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio, L ) sebagai hewan model. Setelah diketahui toksisitasnya , lindi diperlakukan menggunakan reaktor trickling filter dengan debit 500 ml/menit dan waktu retensi 3 jam. Selama percobaan, toksisitas lindi dan beberapa parameter lingkunga n dianalisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa toksisitas lindi dan parameter lingkungan seperti kadar BOD, COD, TSS dan NH3 menurun setelah diperlakukan melalui teknik trickling filter dalam waktu 96 jam..Toksisitas lindi turun 59,46% dari LC50-96 jam 22,50% menjadi 55,50%. Kadar BOD mengalami penurunan sebesar 77,54%, COD 73,21%, TSS 79,67% dan Amoniak 63,79%. Penurunan toksisitas lindi penyebab pencemaran lingkungan berhasil dengan efektif melalui Trickling filter.
The research on decreasing of leachate toxicity from Piyungan Final Waste Disposal of trickling filter technique had been done. The aim of this research was to study the capability at this technique to reduce leachate toxicity based on parameters on pollution. The research was conducted via several steps, the fist step leachate toxicity was examined using Cyprinus corpio,L as a model fish. Then, the leachate was treated using trickling filter reactor under 500 ml.minute-1 at the retention time of 3 h. During the experiment treatment, leachate toxicity and everomental parameter were measured Results revealed that leaching toxicity through trickling filter technique had been reduced. It had been showed by decreasing of LC (50-96 h), BOD, COD, TSS and NH3 concentrations, often 96 h incubation 59,56 % from 22.59% to 55.50%, 77,54%, 72.21%, 79.69%, 63.79%, respection. Trickling filter technique was an effective methode for decreasing leachate toxicity.
