2008 | Tesis | S2 Sain VeterinerPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya antimikroba susu kuda Sumbawa terhadap Bacillus anthracis secara in vitro. Diambil sejumlah 45 sampel susu kuda Sumbawa, satu induk satu sampel dari pemerahan langsung pada induk kuda di Bima NTB. Pengambilan sampel berdasarkan masa laktasi, terdiri dari 15 sampel kolostrum, 15 sampel masa tengah laktasi, dan 15 sampel masa akhir laktasi. Pemisahan supernatan dan sedimen dilakukan dengan disentrifus selama 30menit dengan kecepatan 704,34 x g. Whole milk, supernatan, dan sedimen dari berbagai masa laktasi diuji daya antimikrobanya terhadap Bacillus anthracis isolat Purwakarta dengan metode Kirby-Bauer. Hasil pengukuran diameter hambatan antara kolostrum, susu masa tengah dan akhir laktasi diuji-beda dengan menggunakan analisis variansi pola faktorial dengan perlakuan whole milk, supernatan, dan sedimen di satu fihak dan kolostrum, masa tengah, dan akhir masa laktasi di fihak lain. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya daya antimikroba susu kuda Sumbawa terhadap Bacillus anthracis secara in vitro. Hasil analisis statistik terhadap diameter hambatan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan daya hambat susu kuda Sumbawa berdasarkan masa laktasi, namun berbeda secara nyata antara berbagai sediaan (whole milk, supernatan, sedimen). Whole milk memiliki diameter hambatan yang paling besar diikuti supernatan, sedangkan sedimen tidak menunjukkan daya antimikroba.
This current study was to investigate the in vitro antimikrobial activity of Sumbawa mare’s milk against Purwakarta isolate of Bacillus anthracis. A total of 45 Sumbawa mare’s milk, one from one mare, were obtained by direct milking from mares in Bima, West Eastern Island Provinci. The samples consist of 15 collostrum, 15 mid-lactation milk, and 15 end-lactation milk saples. The supernate of the samples was separated from the sediment by means of 30 minute, 704,34 x g centrifugation. The whole milk, supernate and sediment were tested for their antimikrobial activity againts Bacillus anthracis in accordance to Kirby-Bauer procedure. The inhibition diameter produced by collostrum, mid-lactation, and end-lactation milk were compared factorially in an analysis of variance model againts the variables of the coresonding whole milk, supernate and sediment. The results showed the existence of in vitro antimicrobial activity of Sumbawa mare’s milk. Statistical analysis rerealed no difference in bacterial inhibition showed by milk of different lactation stages. However, significant difference (P < 0,05) were found among milk preparations (whole milk, supernate, and sediment). No antimicrobial activity was abserved among the sediment.
