Faktor-faktor yang Mempengaruhi Pemanfaatan Pelayanan Kesehatan Gigi di Klinik Kesehatan Gigi Madrasah Tsanawiyah Pondok Karya Pembangunan AI Hidayah Jambi

Background: Dental Health Clinic of Pondok Karya Pembangunan AI Hidayah (PKPH) Jambi is a dental health service facility and the first modest health service for general public owned by Madrasah Tsanawiyah Pondok Karya Pembangunan AI Hidayah, Jambi (MTs PKPH Jambi). Students of PKPH Jambi have contributed a certain amount of money for dental health service; however the utilization of this service tends to decrease during the last few years. The aim of the study is to identify factors that influencing the utilization of dental health service of at PKPH Jambi. Method: An analytical study with cross sectional design was used to prove the correlation between the independent variables (knowledge attitude, skill, intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, perception towards toothache) and the dependent variable (the utilization of dental health service). One hundred students were chosen randomly from 1 02 students representing the students that use the dental health service and 1 00 hundred students were chosen randomly from 182 students that representing the students that did not utilize the dental health service of PKPK Jambi and those representing students were used as the study sample. The data was collected by using questionnaires and structural interviews and the data was analized by the multiple logistic regression tests. Result: The result of the multiple logistics regression analysis showed that knowledge value: OR = 1.311 (95% Cl 1,095-1 ,570, p=0,003), and intrinsic motivation value: OR= 1.248 (95% Cl 1,135-1,373, p=O,OOO). Intrinsic motivation and knowledge variables had a significant correlation with the utilization of dental health service (p0,05). Conclusion: 1) The higher the knowledge of students of MTs PKPH Jambi, the higher is the utilization of dental health service at PKPH Jambi, 2) The higher the intrinsic motivation, the higher is the utilization of the dental health service at PKPH Jambi, 3) Variables of attitude, skill, extrinsic motivation and perception towards toothache, did not have a correlation on the utilization of dental health service at KKGPKP AI Hidayah Jambi, 4) Knowledge variable gave the greatest correlation on the utilization of dental health service at PKPH Jambi.
