Hubungan karakteristik individu, kompensasi dan iklim kerja dengan kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi

2008 | Tesis | S2 Ilmu Kedokteran GigiLatar Belakang : Politeknik Kesehatan (Poltekkes) Jambi merupakan hasil merger dari Akademi Keperawatan, Akademi Kesehatan Gigi, Akademi Kesehatan Lingkungan dan Akademi Kebidanan. Perubahan struktur organisasi yang menjadi lebih besar mungkin akan mempengaruhi iklim organisasi dan kepuasan kerja dosen Poltekkes Jambi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan karakteristik individu, kompensasi, dan iklim kerja dengan kepuasan kerja dosen di Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian non eksperimental dengan rancangan cross sectional. Variabel bebas adalah karakteristik individu (umur, jenis kelamin, tingkat pendidikan, dan masa kerja), kompensasi (insentif, penghargaan, dan promosi), dan iklim kerja (hubungan rekan kerja dan supervisi) dengan variabel terikat kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi. Jumlah populasi sebanyak 56 orang dosen di Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner yang selanjutnya dianalisis dengan uji regresi berganda. Hasil: Hasil uji regresi berganda menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna antara Karakteristik Individu (umur p = 0,870; jenis kelamin p = 0,765; tingkat pendidikan p = 0,056; masa kerja p = 0,600), Kompensasi (insentif p = 0,874; penghargaan p = 0,715; promosi p = 0,225), dan Iklim Kerja (hubungan rekan kerja p = 0,190) dengan kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi. Iklim Kerja (supervisi β = 1,058, p = 0,000) mempunyai hubungan yang bermakna dengan kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi. Kontribusi pengaruh supervisi terhadap kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi sebesar 65,6% dan kekuatan hubungan kedua variabel tergolong tinggi (R = 0,810). Kesimpulan: (1) Kepuasan kerja dosen di Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi setelah merger sebagian besar pada kategori sedang. (2) Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara karakteristik individu (umur, jenis kelamin, tingkat pendidikan, dan masa kerja) dengan kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi. (3) Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara kompensasi (insentif, penghargaan dan promosi) dengan kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi. (4) Terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara Iklim kerja pada supervisi dengan kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi, sedangkan iklim kerja pada hubungan rekan kerja tidak mempunyai hubungan yang bermakna dengan kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi. (5) Semakin baik iklim kerja yaitu supervisi, maka semakin tinggi kepuasan kerja dosen Politeknik Kesehatan Jambi
Background: Health Polytechnic of Jambi is the result of the merger from Nursing Academy, Dental Nurse Academy, Environmental Health Academy, and Midwifery Academy. Organizational structure which grows bigger may affect organizational climate and job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Polytechnic. Objective: The study aimed to identify the relationship between individual characteristics, compensation, and work climate with job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic. Method: The study was non experimental with cross sectional design. The dependent variables consisted of individual characteristics (age, sex, education, duration of occupation), compensation (incentives, rewards, and promotion), and work climate (relationship colleagues, and supervision) and the dependent variable was job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic. There were as many as 56 lecturers at Jambi Health Polytechnic as population of the study. Data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using double regression technique. Result: The result of double regression test showed that there was no significant relationship between individual characteristics (age, p=0.870; sex, p=0.765; education, p=0.056; duration of occupation, p=0.6000, compensation (incentives, p=0.874; rewards, p=0.715; promotion, p=0.225), and work climate (relationship colleagues, p=0.190) with the job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic. Work climate (supervision, β=1.058, p=0.000) had significant relationship with the job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic. Contribution of the effect of supervision to job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic was 65.6% and the strength of relationship between the two variables was relatively high (R=0.810). Conclusion: Job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic after merger mostly belonged to medium category. There was no significant relationship between individual characteristics (age, sex, education and duration of occupation) with job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic. There was no significant relationship between compensation (incentives, rewards and promotion) with job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic. There was a significant relationship between work climate in supervision with job satisfaction of lectures of Jambi Health Polytechnic. Whereas work climate in relationship colleagues had no significant relationship with job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic. The better work climate in supervision, the better is the job satisfaction of lecturers of Jambi Health Polytechnic.
