Sistem pencarian rute bis kota berbasis SMS di Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta sebagai salah satu daerah tujuan wisata utama di Indonesia memiliki visi yang kuat untuk mewujudkan tercapainya masyarakat informasi dan mengurangi kesenjangan informasi digital. Seiring dengan dinamisasi perkembangan Kota Yogyakarta dengan peningkatan kapasitas infrastruktur di bidang angkutan umum sebagai urat nadi kehidupan kota. Namun peningkatan ini tidak sebanding dengan fasilitas layanan informasi yang cepat, akurat dan murah bagi pengguna angkutan umum bis kota. Berdasarkan pengamatan selama ini, teridentifikasi 2 permasalahan, yaitu tidak tersedianya informasi rute bis yang lengkap, mudah diketahui, dan dapat mencarikan solusi jika pengguna angkutan bis kota membutuhkan informasi multi bis. Layanan teknologi berbasis SMS merupakan media yang paling tepat untuk menjawabnya karena keunggulan praktis dan bersifat mobile sehingga dapat digunakan untuk akses informasi dimana saja, kapan saja dan oleh siapapun. Berdasarkan kedua permasalahan tersebut di atas, diusulkan suatu penelitian dasar yang kemudian diimplementasikan ke dalam aplikasi perangkat lunak (software). Tujuan akhir yang akan dicapai dengan terrealisasinya penelitian ini adalah Kota Yogyakarta sebagai kota tujuan wisata dan pendidikan memiliki layanan pencarian informasi rute bis kota berbasis SMS (Short Message Service).

As one of Indonesian major tourism destinations, Yogyakarta has a solid vision to develop IT society in order to diminish digital information gaps. The city dynamicisation demands the improvement of public transportation infrastructure as the main nerve of city life. Yet, this improvement can not catch up with the information service facilities that grow rapidly, accurate and low-cost for the users, especially the bus passengers. By the strength of observation these days, we identify two main problems. First, the lack of bus route information, while we need a complete and easy-to-get one. Second, we do not have an integrated public service which is able to provide an accurate multiroute information. A service based on SMS (Short Messaging System) technology becomes the most precise and sophisticated choice to pick. This solution can solve the transportation problems effectually, because of its simplicity and practicality. Besides, this technology is mobile, that everyone can use it wherever and whenever. Set out from those problems, we made a proposal to be implemented in software application. The final aim to be reached is to make Yogyakarta as the main tourism destination and education city that has a Bus Route Information Searching System based on SMS.
