Latar Belakang : Penyakit Tuberculosis merupakan masalah global baik di dunia, Asia Tenggara dan Indonesia. Penyakit tersebut memberi dampak negartif terhadap sector ekonomi dampak psikologis, dan dampak terhadap sector kesehatan khususnya. Hasil pelaksanaan program TB baru di Kabupaten Bengkulu Utara pada tahun 2005 s/d 2006 secara global mengalami penurunan. Angka penemuan suspek masih belum mencapai target yaitu 63,78% dari target nasional 70%. Keterbatasan pencapaian ini tidak terlepas dari peran petugas TB baru Puskesmas karena Puskesmas merupakan ujung tombak pelaksanaan program TB baru. Ada banyak hal yang dapat menyebabkan pencapaian penemuan penderita Tb baru masih rendah, salah satunya bagaimana kinerja petugas program TB baru dari 25 Puskesmas yang ada di Bengkulu Utara ada 13 Puskesmas yang telah mencapai target penemuan kasus dan 12 Puskesmas dibawah target. Tujuan penelitian : Untuk mengetahui bagaimana harapan dari petugas Tb baru baik yang bekerja di Puskesmas yang telah tercapai maupun yang targetnya belum tercapai. Metode dan rancangan penelitian : Penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional dengan rancangan krosektional (potong lintang). Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh petugas Tb baru puskesmas di Bengkulu Utara dengan jumlah 25 orang (total populasi). Variabel bebas penelitian adalah karakteristik, pengetahuan, motivasi, harapan-harapan, sedangkan variabel terikat adalah kinerja petugas Tb baru. Data primer dikumpulkan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner. Data skunder diambil langsung ke Dinas kesehatan Bengkulu Utara. Teknik analisa data adalah deskriptif. Hasil Penelitian : Secara umum tidak ada perbedaan karakteristik antara puskesmas kinerja tinggi dengan puskesmas kinerja rendah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pengetahuan petugas baik yang bekerja di puskesmas kinerja tinggi maupun bekerja dipuskesmas kinerja rendah menunjukkan kemampuan cukup baik. Harapan petugas TB agar supervisi dapat ditingkatkan dan insentif dapat ditingkatkan nominalnya. Kesimpulan : Karakteristik tidak ada perbedaan. Pengetahuan dan motivasi ada perbedaan tapi secara umum sudah baik.

Backgrouond : Tuberclosis disease is global problem in the world, South Easth Asia and Indonesia. It affected on economy sector for psychology aspect and the impact toward health sector specically. The global lung TB program implementation in the district of North Bengkulu in the year of 2005 up to 2006 was decreased. The finding rate of the suspect was not yet reached the target of 63,78% from the national target of 70%. The limitation of this achievement was not separated fom the role of the new TB officer in the Primary Health Care as it is the pioneer of lung TB implementation program. There were many things that could caused the achievement of TB patients were still low and one of the Health Care in North Bengkulu that consisted of 13 Primary Health Care that has achieved the case finding rate and 12 Primary Health Care were below the target. Object : This research was aimed to find out the expectation of lung TB officer who worked in the Primary Health Care that has achieved the target or not. Method : This was an observational research that used cross sectional design. The population of this reseach was all lung TB officers in North Bengkulu with 25 people (total population). The independent variable of this research was characteristic, knowledge, motivation, expectation while the dependent variable was work performance of lung TB officer. Primary data was collected by distributing questioner. Secondary data was directly taken to the district health office of North Bengkulu. The data was analyzed descriptively. Result : There was no difference on the characteristic between Primary Health Care with high performance and low performance. Based on the research result, the knowledge of health care provider who worked in the Primary Health Care with high performance and low performance showed a quite significant ability. The expectation of TB officer was that supervision could be improved and the amount of the incentive could be increased. Conclusion : There was no difference on characteristic and there was a difference on knowledge and motivation although generally they were sufficient enough.
