Penurunan SLow Moving dan Dead Moving Material melalui strategi Supply Chain :: Studi kasus di PT Quest International Indonesia

Slow moving dan dead moving stock material merupakan masalah yang cukup pelik dalam sebuah perusahaan karena akan menjadi written-off material yang tentunya akan menjadi kerugian (loss) dalam perusahaan. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh lead time pasokan raw material yang lama sehingga dibutuhkan demand forecasting untuk order raw material ke pemasok. Di satu sisi demand forecasting seringkali tidak akurat sehingga raw material yang diorder seringkali tidak sema dengan yang akan dipakai untuk produksi. Raw material tersebut akhirnya menjadi slow moving dan dead moving material. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari strategi supply chain efektif untuk dapat memecahkan masalah pada lead time dengan menerapkan strategi lead time dan mencari metode teknik demand forecasting yang sesuai untuk dapat menaikkan akurasi demand forecast tersebut. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk menurunkan loss pada PT. Quest International Indonesia sehingga dapat dipakai untuk program cost saving dalam perusahaan tersebut dan bila teruji valid pada proses evaluasi dalam beberapa tahun mendatang maka diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai benchmark di sejumlah pabrik Quest International di seluruh dunia.

Slow moving and dead moving materials are the huge problems in the company since would be written-materials lead to company’s loss. Its caused by long lead time of raw materials supply therefore inquiry demand forecasting to order raw materials to suppliers. In the other side, the demand forecasting often inaccurate therefore raw materials ordering do not meet to production requirements. Those raw materials at the end would be slow moving and dead moving materials. This research purposed to search effectivelly supply chain strategy in order to find out raw materials lead time problems where implement lead time strategy and to search the fit demand forecasting technique in order to increase demand forecasting accuraccy. The result of this research can be used for declining loss in PT. Quest International Indonesia and can be used for cost saving programme. If the result is valid during evaluation for the next few years hence it can be used for bencmarking in whole sites of Quest International in around the world.
