Penerapan Web Service pada pendistribusian informasi sistem pembelajaran biota laut Indonesia

Keanekaragaman biota dan ekosistem laut di Indonesia merupakan salah satu sumber daya alternatif yang masih memerlukan eksplorasi secara maksimal. Di Indonesia saat ini banyak terdapat eksploitasi sumber daya kelautan secara berlebihan, dengan penggunaan teknologi yang tidak ramah lingkungan. Oleh karena itu muncul kebutuhan untuk memperkenalkan pengetahuan biota dan kekayaan laut kepada masyarakat, untuk peningkatan minat pelestarian sumber daya kelautan Indonesia. Kebutuhan akan pengetahuan keanekaragaman biota dan ekosistem laut di Indonesia direalisasikan ke dalam Sistem Pembelajaran Biota Laut Nusantara. Kemudian timbul suatu permasalahan, yakni bagaimana untuk memperoleh fleksibilitas dalam pemilihan jenis media dan teknologi pemrograman, pada pembangunan aplikasi klien. Dimana pada sistem ini tidak terdapat fasilitas koneksi langsung ke server basis data, dikarenakan port untuk basis data, alamat server host basis data, username dan password dari akun pengguna basis data tidak dipublikasikan. Solusi untuk mengatasi problem tersebut digunakan teknologi web service. Pada penelitian ini telah berhasil diimplementasikan teknologi web service untuk memperoleh informasi biota laut dan fungsionalitas tiap modul sistem pembelajaran, dari penyedia layanan web service Sistem Pembelajaran Biota Laut Nusantara. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem penyedia jasa layanan web service biota laut dan dua buah aplikasi klien Sistem Pembelajaran Biota Laut Nusantara berbasis WAP dan website. Sistem ini belum diimplementasikan kepada masyarakat, tetapi diharapkan di masa yang akan datang dapat dilakukan kerja sama dengan pemerintah atau pihak berwenang, untuk diujicobakan kepada masyarakat luas.

Indonesia sea biota and its ecosystem, is the one of potential alternative resource, which still need maximal exploration. Now, Indonesia has a lot of oceanic exploitation by using detroyer technology. Because of that, the requirement of knowledge about introducing variety of Indonesia sea biota and its ecosystem to the society is appeared. It is expected to increase the interest of the society to keep everlasting Indonesia oceanic resouce. That requirement is realized in Sea Biota Nusantara learning system.When the system want to spread the knowledge to general society, has a problem about how to get flexible to develop the client system with use many variety device and programming development technology. In this system, there is no mechanism about how to make a direct connection to database server. Because the database port, address of database server, database name, username and password of database user is not generally publish. The technology solution to solve the problem, is handled by Web Service. Every functionality of modul in this system and sea biota information, is distributed in each web method. Web methods can be used in client of Sea Biota Nusantara learning system. In this research, has successful implemented the web service technology, to get the sea biota knowledge resource from Sea Biota Nusantara learning system provider. The result of this research is produced about one web service system provider and two client of Sea Biota Nusantara learning system, based on WAP dan website technology. This system has not been tested in society yet, but it is expected for the future can make some appointment with the government or relevan second party, to test this system to the general society.
