Analisis reaksi pasar atas pengumuman deviden pada Bursa Efek Jakarta

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis reaksi pasar atas pengumuman dividen pada Bursa Efek Jakarta. Sampel menggunakan 206 saham emiten yang terdiri dari 109 saham emiten yang mengumumkan dividen naik, 31 saham emiten yang mengumumkan dividen tetap dan 66 saham emiten yang mengumumkan dividen turun. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis event study untuk menganalisis reaksi pasar. Hasil memperlihatkan tidak terdapat muatan informasi atas pengumuman dividen di Indonesia baik untuk kelompok dividen meningkat, tetap maupun menurun. Demikian juga tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara rata-rata abnormal return perusahaan tumbuh dan tidak tumbuh, baik untuk kelompok dividen meningkat, tetap maupun menurun.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the market reaction to a dividend announcement at Jakarta Stock Exchange. Samples of this research are 109 increase dividend announcements, 31 constant dividend announcement and 66 samples of decrease dividend announcement from 2003 until 2005. This research explore by applying methods of analysis event study methodology for analyzing the market reaction. The result shows that there are not found information content from dividend increase and also for dividend constant and dividend decrease announcement. The result of test compare mean shows that there are not found some significant average abnormal return differences between growth firms and non growth firms from dividend increase and also for dividend constant and dividend decrease announcement
