Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi peran Brimob dalam intervensi konflik, namun secara khusus penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat beberapa hal yaitu : (1) melakukan evaluasi bagaimana peran Sat Brimob Polda NTB dalam intervensi konflik; (2) mengetahui pada tahapan mana intervensi konflik tersebut dilakukan; (3) memberikan saran pendapat kepada institusi Polri, dalam hal ini Kor Brimob Polri pada umumnya dan Sat Brimob Polda Nusa Tenggara Barat pada khususnya tentang peran Brimob dalam melakukan intervensi konflik. Latar belakang memilih judul ini adalah karena banyaknya konflik lokal yang ada di wilayah NTB, khususnya konflik Ahmadiyah dengan masyarakat, di mana konflik ini mendapat sorotan dari dalam maupun luar negeri. Di samping itu juga peran Sat Brimob Polda NTB dalam melaksanakan intervensi konflik tersebut masih kurang dan harus dilakukan evaluasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan data yang diperoleh pada saat workshop di Polda NTB melalui wawancara dengan beberapa peserta workshop yang berasal dari Sat Brimob Polda NTB dan juga wawancara di lapangan dengan tokoh masyarakat dan Kepala Sat Brimob Polda NTB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa hal yaitu : (1) Dalam intervensi konflik Ahmadiyah dengan masyarakat di Lombok Barat tahun 2006, peran Sat Brimob Polda NTB melakukan intervensi konflik hanya pada tahap konfrontasi dan tahap krisis saja; (2) Fungsi intelejen pada struktur organisasi di Sat Brimob Polda NTB ditiadakan; (3) Terdapat dualisme komando pengendalian yaitu antara Kapolres Mataram dengan Kepala Sat Brimob Polda NTB sehingga menghambat keberhasilan dari proses intervensi konflik; (4) fungsi community policing bagi anggota Brimob masih belum dioptimalkan karena belum adanya perintah dari Kepala Kepolisian daerah NTB.

This research aim to evaluate the role of Brimob in intervencing conflict, but peculiarly research aim to see some things that is : (1) does evaluation how the role of Sat Brimob District police West Timor (NTB) in intervencing conflict, (2) knows at step such intervention of the conflict is done, (3) gives suggestion of opinion to institution of Republic of Indonesian police, in this case Brimob Coordinator police in general and Sat Brimob at West Timor (NTB) especially about the role of Brimob in doing intervention of conflict. Reasoning of choosing this title is because the many local conflict in region West Timor (NTB), especially conflict Ahmadiyah with public, where this conflict gets focus either from within and also overseas. Side that also the role of Sat Brimob District Police West Timor (NTB) in executing intervention of the conflict stills less and must be done evaluation. This research applies data obtained at the time of workshop in District Police West Timor (NTB) through interview with Some participant workshop is coming from Sat Brimob District Police West Timor (NTB) as well as interview is field with elite figure and head Sat Brimob District Police West Timor (NTB). Result of research shows some things that is : (1) In intervencing conflict Ahmadiyah with public in West Lombok in year 2006, the role of Sat Brimob District Police West Timor (NTB) did intervention of conflict only at confrontation phase and crisis phase only, (2) function of intelligent at organization chart in Sat Brimob at West Timor (NTB) is negated, (3) there is dualism of operation commando that is between Mataram Police Head Regimen with head Sat Brimob District Police West Timor (NTB) causing pursues success from intervention process of conflict, (4) function of community policing for member of Brimob still have not been optimal by has not existence of command from police head.
