Pengaruh pemberian Multivitamin dan Gonadotrophin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) pada sapi silangan Brahman-Simmental (SIMBRAH) Postpartum terhadap angka kebuntingan

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan angka kebuntingan pada sapi silangan Brahman-Simmental postpartum dengan pemberian multivitamin dan hormon GnRH (Fertagyl®, intervet, Indonesia). Sebanyak 40 ekor sapi silangan Brahman-Simmental yang baru beranak satu bulan, secara klinis sehat, umur ± 2,5 tahun, digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Sapi-sapi tersebut dibagi rata secara acak menjadi 4 kelompok. Kelompok I (n=10), setiap ekor diinjeksi dengan multivitamin (Vigantol®, Bayer, Indonesia) dengan dosis 3 ml secara intra muskuler (IM) tiga hari sekali selama empat puluh lima hari, setelah timbul birahi sapi di Inseminasi Buatan (IB) dan diinjeksi dengan GnRH 250 μg secara intra muskuler. Kelompok II (n=10), mendapat perlakuan yang sama diinjeksi dengan multivitamin, diinjeksi 250 μg GnRH setelah multivitamin selesai, setelah timbul birahi sapi di IB diikuti injeksi 250 μg GnRH pada hari yang sama. Kelompok III (n=10), setiap ekor diinjeksi dengan multivitamin, setelah timbul birahi sapi di IB. Kelompok IV (n=10), kelompok kontrol tanpa perlakuan (plasebo), IB dilakukan pada saat estrus. Pengambilan sampel darah dilakukan pada semua kelompok melalui vena jugularis pada hari ke 0,15, 30, pada saat IB dan 30 hari setelah IB. Progesteron diukur dengan menggunakan kit assay progesteron (Axsym system@ for Progesterone, Abbott Japan Co Ltd). Pemeriksaan kebuntingan dilakukan dengan eksplorasi rektal 3 bulan setelah IB. Hasil penelitian estrus pertama postpartum kelompok I sampai IV ratarata 81,4 hari, 92,7 hari, 84 hari dan 112,9 hari. Skor kondisi tubuh (SKT) kelompok I, II dan III dapat dipertahankan sampai akhir penelitian, kelompok IV (SKT) menjadi 2,5 pada akhir penelitian. Hasil pemeriksaan progesteron kelompok I, II, dan IV sebelum perlakuan, 15 hari, 30 hari dan saat IB adalah rata-rata kurang dari 1ng/ml. Satu bulan setelah IB kadar progesteron semua kelompok meningkat rata-rata 4,23 ng/ml. Persentase kebuntingan kelompok I sampai IV adalah 50%, 50%, 60% dan 70% (P>0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian multivitamin dapat mempercepat estrus pertama postpartum dan mempertahankan skor kondisi tubuh. Pemberian multivitamin dan GnRH pada sapi silangan Brahman-Simmental postpartum tidak berpengaruh terhadap angka kebuntingan

The objective of the study is to increase the conception rates of postpartum Brahman-Simmental crossbred cows by administering multivitamin (Vigantol@, Bayer, Indonesia) and GnRH (Fertagyl@, Intervet, Indonesia) injected intramuscularly. A total 40 heads of Brahman-Simmental crossbred cows one month after calving, clinically healthy, approximately 2.5 years old, were used in the present study. The animals were randomly divided into 4 groups. Group I (n=10), each animal was given with 3 ml multivitamin (Vigantol@, Bayer, Indonesia) once every three days for 45 days, after showing estrus symptoms the animal was artificially inseminated and followed by injecting 250 μg GnRH (Fertagyl@, Intervet, Indonesia). Group II (n=10), each animal was given the same protocol of multivitamin injections, injected with 250 μg GnRH on the last day of multivitamin administration, then artificially inseminated based on estrus symptoms and followed by injection of 250 μg GnRH at the same day. Group III (n=10), each animal was given the same protocol of multivitamin injections only. In group IV (n=10), as control animals, no treatment were given, but artificial insemination was performed also based on estrus symptoms as in the last two groups. Blood samples for plasma progesterone determination were collected from jugular veins of all groups at days 0, 15, 30, at the time and 30 days following artificial insemination. Plasma progesterone determination was done using progesterone assay kit (Axsym System@ for Progesterone, Abbott Japan Co Ltd.) Pregnancy checking was performed using rectal examination 3 months following artificial insemination. The present study indicated that the averages first estrus postpartum in groups I to IV were 81.4, 92.7, 84, and 112.9 days, respectively. The average body condition scores (BCS) for groups I to III were 3.0 while in group IV was decreased to 2.5 at the end of the study. The average plasma progesterone concentrations before treatment, on days 0, 15, 30, and at the time of artificial insemination were less 1.0 ng/ml. The plasma concentration of progesterone of all groups one month after artificial insemination increased, reached 4.23 ng/ml. Pregnancy diagnosis showed that the conception rates in groups I to IV were 50%, 50%, 60% and 70%, respectively. These results were not statistically different (P>0.05). It can be concluded that the administration of multivitamin enhanced the onset of first estrus postpartum and maintained constant body condition score of the animals. It is also noted that the administration of multivitamin and GnRH in postpartum Brahman- Simmental crossbred cows had no effect on the conception rates.
