Tujuan: Membandingkan hasil operasi bibir sumbing satu sisi komplit antara metode Millad I dengan metode Cronin yang meliputi kesimetrisan lebar dasar nostril, tinggi nostril, tinggi philtrum, tinggi vermillion, lebar Cupid’s bow dan tinggi Cupid’s bow, dengan menggunakan penilaian Cleft Lip Component Symmetry Index. Bahan dan cara: Data penelitian diambil dengan melakukan pengukuran pada pasien enam bulan pasca pembedahan. Populasi penelitian adalah pasien pasca operasi bibir sumbing satu sisi komplit, yang dirawat di poli Bedah mulut RSUP Dr.Sardjito mulai bulan Januari 2004 sampai Juni 2006. Sebanyak 20 pasien yang ikut dalam penelitian. Subyek penelitian dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok dengan metode pembedahan Millard I dan kelompok dengan metode pembedahan Cronin. Untuk membandingkan dua perlakuan metode pembedahan dilakukan analisis dengan U Mann Whitney. Hasil: Hasil memperlihatkan bahwa lebar dasar nostril, tinggi nostril, tinggi philtrum, tinggi vermillion, tinggi Cupid’s bow dan lebar Cupid’s bow tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang bermakna antara kelompok bibir sumbing satu sisi komplit yang dilakukan pembedahan dengan metode Millard I dan Cronin (p > 0.05). Kesimpulan: Tidak ada perbedaan hasil pembedahan bibir sumbing satu sisi komplit antara yang dioperasi dengan menggunakan metode Millard I dan metode Cronin. Hasil pembedahan pada penelitian ini sama-sama tidak simetris.

Objectives: The aim of this study was compare the symmetry of surgical outcome by the Millard’s I and Cronin’s methods of complete unilateral cleft lip, the following component evaluated are nostril width, nostril height, piltrum height, vermillion height, Cupid’s bow height and Cupid’s bow width by determining Cleft Lip Component Symmetry Index. Material and methods: Data was measuring six month after surgery. The population of this study were complete unilateral cleft lip patient of Oral Surgery Department of Dr. Sardjito General Hospital from January 2004 until Juni 2006. There were 20 patients participant. They were grouped into two, i.e. Millard’s I and Cronin’s method group, and subsequently analyzed by U Mann Whitney test. Result: There were no significant differences in nostril width, nostril height, piltrum height, vermillion height, Cupid’s bow height and bow width between both group (p > 0.05) Conclusion: There were no differences in surgical outcome of complete unilateral cleft lip between Millard’s I and Cronin’s method. In this study both of them are asymmetry.
