Analisis kinerja lapisan transport pada Wireless LAN menggunakan network simulator 2

2006 | Tesis | S2 Teknik ElektroLapisan transport merupakan lapisan komunikasi data yang mengatur aliran data antara dua host, untuk keperluan aplikasi di atasnya. Ada dua jenis protokol pada layer ini, yaitu TCP ( Transmission Control Protocol) dan UDP ( User Datagram Protocol). TCP menyediakan servis yang dikenal karena connection oriented, reliable, dan byte stream service , sedangkan UDP menyediakan servis connectionless dan unreliable. Simulasi wireless LAN ini dilakukan dengan memakai Network Simulator Ns-2 versi NS-allinone-2.28 pada sistem operasi Linux distribusi RedHat versi 7.3, Parameterparameter QoS (Quality of Services) yang ingin diketahui ialah throughput dan end-toend delay. Simulasi ini menggunakan topologi yang terdiri dari 2 mobile node , 3 mobile node, 4 mobile node, dan 5 mobile node. Mobile node bergerak pada suatu area yang dibatasi pada ukuran 500mX500m. Hasil simulasi menunjukan throughput UDP lebih besar dan end-to-end delay lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan TCP.
Transport layer is a layer of data communication that regulate data current between two hosts in order to full fill the application need on it. There are two protocols on this layer; TCP (Transmission Control Protocol ) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol). TCP provides service which is well known as connection oriented, reliable, and byte stream service, meanwhile, UDP provides connectionless and unreliable services. Wireless LAN simulation is done by using Network Simulator Ns-2 version NS-allinone-2.28 on Linux operation system Red Hat distribution v7.3, Parameters of QoS (Quality of Services) that is going to be studied is throughput and end-to-end delay. The topology consists of 2 mobile nodes, 3 mobile nodes, 4 mobile nodes and 5 mobile nodes. The mobile nodes move about within an area whose boundary is defined as 500mX500m. The simulation result show that UDP throughput are higher and end-to-end delays are smaller than the TCPs.
