Penelitian ini menyajikan aspek pariwisata dan perubahan lingkungan sosial ekonomi masyarakat di Desa Ubud, Gianyar, Bali. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perkembangan pariwisata di Desa Ubud dari tahun 1993-2003 dan perubahan lingkungan sosial ekonomi masyarakat sebagai akibat perkembangan pariwisata dari tahun 1993-2003. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode survei, dengan melakukan wawancara, dan penyebaran kuisioner terhadap 90 KK, dengan rincian 50 KK untuk Dusun Ubud Klod dan 40 KK untuk Dusun Junjungan. Penentuan sampel responden menggunakan teknik Proporsional Random Sampling. Data primer dianalisis menggunakan analisis tabulasi frekuensi yang kemudian dianalisis lagi secara deskriftif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Perkembangan tingkat kunjungan wisatawan dari tahun 1993-2003 adalah dominan meningkat, sedangkan jumlah industri pariwisata mengalami peningkatan yang pesat. Perubahan lingkungan biofisik karena alih fungsi lahan akibat pembangunan fisik fasilitas pariwisata dari tahun 1993-2003. Perubahan kondisi ekonomi masyarakat Ubud berupa perubahan pekerjaan pokok, penambahan pekerjaan sampingan dan jam kerja serta penambahan pendapatan masyarakat. Perubahan yang terjadi pada kondisi sosial masyarakat, khususnya tingkat solidaritas masyarakat tidak terlalu berarti, tidak seperti yang terjadi pada pola gaya hidup . Perubahan pada solidaritas adalah perubahan yang masih dalam kewajaran, berbeda dengan perubahan proses sosial yang terjadi pada pola gaya hidup, pada umumnya perubahannya meningkat, terutama pola gaya hidup kepemilikan sarana transportasi dan komunikasi serta pola bepergian ke luar daerah, baik pada provinsi sama maupun pada provinsi yang berbeda.

This Research presents the aspect of tourism and change of economic social environment in Ubud village, Ubud district, Gianyar regency, Bali province. This research aim to know the tourism growth in Ubud village from 1993 to 2003 year and change of society economic social environment as effect of tourism growth from 1993 to 2003 year. The Data collecting use the survey method, by interview, and spreading questionnaire to head of households, The detail are 50 head of households for Ubud Klod orchid and 40 head of households for Junjungan Orchid. Determination of respondent sample use by Proportional Random Sampling technique. The Primary Data analysed by the frequency tabulation analysis and then analysed again by deskriftif. The result of research indicate that the tourism Growth in Ubud village measured with the tourists growth and tourism industry from 1993 to 2003 year. Amount of tourists growth from 1993-2003 were very fluctuation, while amount of tourism industry were improvement very fast. The change of environment of bio physics effect from tourism growth. Such as downhill the area widw and downhill of function from farm field and dry field and also the increasing of lawn field for the contruction of tourism facility. Change of society economics conditionin Ubud such as of change of primary work and addition of side job and office hours also addition of society earnings. Chang that happened at society social condition, as specially mount the society solidarity, can be hold not too signifivant. Not such as which happened at life style pattern. The change at solidarity were normally condition, differ from social process that happened at life style pattern in general. It’s change mount, especially at ownership of transportations and communication and also the increasing of society in performing to travel at local province and at different province
