Analisis konsensus strategik pada PT Waagner Biro Indonesia

2005 | Tesis | Magister ManajemenFloyd dan Woolridge dalam penelitiannya menjelaskan bahwa kegagalan eksekusi strategi disebabkan oleh para manajer (sebagai pelaksana strategi) yang tidak mengerti arah strategi dan kurangnya informasi yang didapat para manajer. Implementasi akan berhasil apabila pihak pembuat strategi dan pelaksana strategi memiliki kesamaan strategic priorities dan sangat dipengaruhi oleh shared understanding dan common commitment. Dengan dasar pemikiran tersebut, studi ini ditujukan untuk mempelajari pengaruh tingkat pendidikan karyawan terhadap shared understanding dan shared commitment dalam pembentukan konsensus strategik. Penelitian dilakukan pada PT Waagner Biro Indonesia, perusahaan yang bergerak pada konstruksi jembatan baja. Kuesioner digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data, berisikan pertanyaan-pertanyaan mengenai consensus content yaitu mengenai vision, objectives and goals; key resources dan competitif advantage; strategic priorities; dan perihal organisasi dan proses organisasi. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 21 orang. Untuk mengetahui level konsensus strategik dan pengaruh tingkat pendidikan, digunakan analysis of variances untuk mengetahui terjadinya perbedaan diantara rata-rata populasi. Hasil dari analysis of variances, variabel yang significant menunjukan tidak terjadinya shared understanding dan shared commitment, juga terdapat pengaruh tingkat pendidikan terhadap pembentukan shared understanding dan shared commitment. Penelitian ini mendapat fakta baru bahwa tingkat pendidikan tidak mempengaruhi pembentukan shared understanding dan shared commitment pada karyawan, hal ini dipicu oleh pengalaman kerja yang sebagian besar sudah lama bekerja. Level konsensus yang terjadi pada PT Waagner Biro Indonesia yaitu Strong Consensus untuk dimensi key resources dan competitif advantage, tetapi untuk dimensi vision, objectives and goals dan dimensi strategic priorities adalah informed skeptiscism. Sedangkan dimensi organisasi dan proses organisasi, shared understanding yang terjadi tinggi dan shared commitment tinggi.
Floyd And Woolridge in its research explain that failure execute the strategy because of all manager ( as strategy executor) do not understand the strategy direction and lack of information got by all manager. Implementation will succeed if party of maker of strategy and strategy executor own the equality of strategic priorities and very influenced by shared understanding and common commitment. Base on the opinion, this study addressed to learn the influence mount the employees education to shared understanding and shared commitment in strategic consensus forming. Research conducted at PT Waagner Biro Indonesia, peripatetic company at construction of steel bridge. Questioner used to collect the data, comprising question of concerning consensus content that is hit the vision, objectives and goals; key resources and competitive advantage; strategic priorities; and as for organizational process and organization. Sum up the responder in this research as much 21 people. To know the strategic level consensus and influence mount the education, used by analysis of variances to know the happening of difference among population mean. Result from analysis of variances, variable which significant show do not the happening of shared understanding and shared commitment, also there are influence mount the education to forming of shared understanding and shared commitment. This research get the new fact that education do not influence the forming of shared understanding and shared commitment of employees, this matter is triggered by job experience mostly have been worked experience. Level Consensus that happened at PT Waagner Biro Indonesia that is Strong Consensus for the dimension of key resources and competitive advantage, but for the dimension of vision, objectives and goals and dimension of strategic priorities is informed skepticism. While organizational dimension and organizational process, high shared understanding that happened and high shared commitment.
